WHOO am I?
« on: October 11, 2013, 12:03:22 PM »
Well, it was a jolly good run, but this ol' soldier's hung up his sword. It was an honour and a priviledge serving with you all! HMPH!

Ask your questions and show me your deductions!

PM me your guesses ; )

Are you smaller than a breadbox?
Can you fold your tongue into a tube?
Is Mel Gibson the product of his heredity or his environment?
How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?
If you put Truman Capote and David Sedaris in a white, windowless room and locked them in then who would eviscerate the other first?

Yey a reveal thing!

Is this your first contest?
Do you have any regrets or anything you would have done differently with Noonahootin if you had the chance to do it all over again? Or were you overall pleased with what you did with him (besides the dying part, obviously ;_;)?
What was your favorite post you wrote, and why?
Seriously. Where did you come up with a name like Noonahootin? ^^

To Matra:
No, yes, a combination of the two, 252, and Truman Capote hands down.

To Tara:
No, this wouldnít be my first competition. As for any regrets, I only wish that Zevka and I could have fleshed out the different cultures of the story, such as the Academy, the Court of the Seven Winds, and all those whatnots. Noonahootin was a great character to write; heís animated, and heís a bird. Itís hard to regret anything about him, really.

I think, for my favourite post, itís a toss-up between the surgery post ĎRattling Bonesí from week three or my first post in the story, ĎThe Art of Flying in the Snowí.  People said Rattling Bones was gross for the sake of being gross, but it wasnít. It was realistic with that same uneducated cartoonish nonsense. Both posts, whether introducing my militant owl or cutting him up, were tons of fun to write, and thatís why Iím here. To have fun.

As for the nameÖI donít know what youíre talking about. Didnít Noonahootin say his mother named him such because heíd be hooting every day until noon? XD I wish I had some grand epic tale to reveal how Noonahootin got his name, but reallyÖit sounded owly. That, and it made me smile.  Heheh!

It's always sad/funny when you write a post and absolutely love it, but the audience doesn't get it or just doesn't like it. "Rattling Bones" wasn't my cup of tea, but mainly because I'm pretty squeamish about blood and gore. But I liked the few non-gory moments it had. XP

So. I'll ask you what I asked Gashy. What year was the last contest you've been in? And how many have you been in? :P

I'm on the fence about the Capote vs Sedaris conflict. Might all hang on what happens first: Capote comes down from his high and freaks out, thus ending Sedaris OR Capote's head explodes as Sedaris tells yet another story about his dysfunctional family.

Is there anything you didn't get to do with your character? Perhaps courting Zevka like every other beast? Or breaking into a jaunty tune?

Have you written reviews for this contest?
What do you do for a living?
What is your current favorite TV show?

I haven't yet drawn your death scene - I was considering doing Aster's last viscous attack, but is there another moment you'd prefer to be memorialized?

The year I previously competed in, and there was only one other time, was way back in 2007.

Haha, Noona would have done well in a musical number. However, the only thing I didnít get to do with him that I really wanted involved Vanessa Fern and Mister Fern, her belated pa. Noona and he were buddies back in the day, and I would like to have explored a closer relationship with Nessy. Week Five was the week we were originally going to have two posts, but it got changed and so my first post became my only post and I never really got to explore Mr Fernís death with Vanessa, or dabble too long on her kidnapping.

Have I written reviews for this contest, no. No I have not. I think thatís a bit of a cheap shot to my fellow contestants. We all help each other behind the scenes, and to write a review that could be unfavourable wearing a different mask, wellÖthatís not very nice, hehe. I also never voted, as I swore I would not vote in the competition to keep it as fair as possible.

For a living, I do a few things. I bartend on the weekends and I work in an office during the week. When Iím not working, I've recently gotten into anything AMC broadcasts (Breaking Bad, Hell on Wheels, The Walking Dead to name a few), and American Horror Story: Coven. Oh, and Wilfred, another FX show. That dog makes me howl.

Vizon, you draw whatever you want. Youíre amazing. Iíll hatch your babies for you. Iíll personally regurgitate into their mouths.

Y'know, you get points for supporting Boss Man Rick Grimes, but regurgitating into a person's mouth? Suddenly I'm questioning the whole "bartender" thing. Yeah, I'm a "independent home security quality assurance technician" on the weekends. We both are 200% legit. Yep.

Would've loved seeing a bit more of the guard pride come out. A damn shame Vanessa's writer scooted. Tons of potential there. So, what of things you thought you could've done better? Or scenes you would change on retrospection?

I'd ask questions about who or what you may be but I don't know anyone from the past contests and, frankly, I'm scared of what reward I'd receive for guessing right. Or is it too late for retreat? Should I prepare my babies for five miles of old owl butt?

Oh Matra, old owl butt is the least of your worries. HARRUPH! It's the young ones you have to watch out for, haha! I'm surprised how many people have guessed, and three people have guessed correctly, as it were! I suppose I could reveal who wears the wings around here...

I would have liked to have explored more with Vanessa, like I said, but the same goes for Istvan. I never felt that Istvan and Noona got to bond as much as they should have, and Noona knew some juicy dirt on Isty that would have really made for some fantastic character development for everyone, especially with more development of other outside locations like the Court of the Seven Winds, and where Istvan comes from. I wouldn't have really changed much, I don't think, except perhaps letting on that Noona knew some more intimate details of Istvan's life, and just WHY Noona chose to ignore Istvan's peculiar lifestyle.

...not that having women's wigs in the closet is a bad thing, I'm just saying... HOOT HOOT HOOT just kidding! Istvan knows what I'm talking about. It was originally going to be explored in week two, in my 'Blue on Blue' post but that got too big and there just wasn't a way to connect everything smoothly without making the post busier than it already was. If I had had more time...*shakes fist*

Well, the canary is dead in the mine, so I think it's time.

I am the one...

The only...

The magnificent foxpen!

Huzzah! You did really well, Nooners. Your name made me facepalm at first, but I came to realize such a character needed a ridiculous name. It just fit. I couldn't see him with any other name now. XP

Hurray Foxpen! A toast -- to good writing and fun characters to sketch!

Speaking of sketching, sadly even with all this extra time Noony's death scene is still not painted...
However I am determined to complete this sad task as soon as a window of miraculous free time opens for me.
It is coming - I swear!
