The day of judgment draws near! D:

Before we find out who gets in and who does not, I would like to take one last moment to thank one more group. The players.

To clarify, as a player in the contest I am NOT thanking myself. My ego hasn't grown that big...yet :3

I would like to thank each of the players for taking the time to make apps for this contest. Each one was clearly written with time, effort and love.

Like me, you probably waited with excitement as each reviewer went down the list until they came to your character. You most likely quietly smiled as you saw favorable reviews, and gritted your teeth and endured...less than favorable reviews. Now I wont claim to be an experienced writer but now it is my turn to offer what advice I can give.

There is an important lesson to be learned in the reviewing process, one that goes beyond writing style, or technical ability. That is that no matter what you write, some one will love it. Conversely no matter what you write, some one will hate it.

You have no control over this because art is in the eye of the beholder. So don't be discouraged because your application doesn't move people or come across the way that you wanted it too. Nor should you let it go to your head if you get a favorable review.

Success as a writer is determined by what you want to get out of it.

If you want to get paid for your writing and you get manage to sell some books, congrats. You're successful.

If you want to write simply because you like writing. Congrats. You are successful as long as you keep writing and keep enjoying it.

In the end everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If someone likes or dislikes your work or felt it could have been better if you had done this one little thing that may seem completely trivial, good! That's their right to express their opinion! And every reasonable opinion expressed about your writing should be looked at as free experience and training to improve your writing!

And as far as my opinion goes, you all did very well.

Regardless of who gets in I really, really want to see what each of you will bring to the next game as well.

Fantastic post--hear hear, Rascal! *raises yonder flask*

I'm sure we're all awaiting the 12th with bated breath, but guys, you wrote some wicked cool applications and had a blast. I loved reading each of the applications and seeing just how creative everybody's characters were. Give yourself a hand, 'cause those 650ish words were totally worth writing!

While we all want to get in, no doubt, even those who don't manage to make it have such opportunity to learn and grow from the experience. Matter of fact, once the voting deadline passes, if anybody wants a fifth/sixth/whatevernumberwe'reon opinion, feel free to PM me and I'd be happy to share my thoughts on your app. I can't promise to necessarily say anything new, but like Rascal said, I sure as heck can give you my opinion, both as a writer and a reader.

A heartfelt best of luck to everyone, and a round of applause to our intrepid writerfolk!

Thanks :3 But I think my post will have more impact now that I fixed all the spelling errors. x.x
