Nara here, famously of "Nara, No!". Regretfully, there will be no "Nara, No!" in this thread.

Onward!

Preludes

A Choice
- Sister Siroc

Nestled in the timeskip within Sister Siroc's app, we are given an emotional recollection of her farewells to the rest of the sisterhood, who will later burn in their rooms at Siroc's paw.

We had some implication in Siroc's app that she had a lot of second thoughts about burning down the building that she'd been... long-term infiltrating, I think? This is a huge investment in proving her dilemma, showing us memories and interactions that all stem from a place of love.

There a couple of minor technicals (in the paragraph that starts 'I grew up in the South...', there are a few uses that should be thems), and a couple of wording oddities ('heralded' when there was nobody to hear the heralding, and "You don't have to do this, you know" - but good luck finding any other realistically-flowing sentence that communicates this without ending up in trope territory), but all in all I am still completely convinced of the premise: Siroc was in serious danger of becoming truly happy here, and has been required to destroy that old happy life for the same of the Ring.

I also desperately hope that Sister Sagebrush, being loudly alluded to knowing what's coming, also worked out an escape route beforehand!

Round Summary

I'm intrigued as to why there's only one Prelude. I'm kind of secretly hoping that it's going to fill up over time, like the backstories on Lost did. A good showing from Siroc either way.
