"Thank you for being here for me. I'll make it up to you later, I promise."

"Every time I tell other beasts I talk to you I get weird looks  - if I'm lucky, that is. Sometimes they just laugh, and I don't really understand why."

"Everybeast talks to those whom they trust, it's normal. Used to do that with Rellan, and we taught Bonn about this. After a long day, it's a good idea to let your guard down and let others know of your experiences, good and bad."

"What? You want me to start off now? Fine - you're a pretty good negotiator."

"Yeah, yeah. I know I haven't done that in a while, and you need a reminder. You always do."

"Alright. First Gryf's Roost almost burns to the ground - I know, that was when we first met. Then I asked you to help me with my Bone Rattling, Bonn got confused, and Rellan got angry. I say he's just jealous, but that's not quite correct."

"What was next? Ah yes, the Choir. You'd expect a bunch of boring old skunks to have nothing better to do but talk to each other, and you'd be right. They didn't want to talk to you - probably because you're not a skunk. I couldn't change their minds. I should have changed their minds, but I couldn't. Perhaps another time."

"They proceeded to banish me from their ranks and I've been on the road ever since. I walked and I talked and beasts began to join me. Got another five today, all around Bonn's age. Ruso and Kas and... I'll remember the rest of their names soon. They're only here a day or two, after all."

"Of course I didn't forget my other three. Alra, Difri, Gelorn. Alra, Difri, Gelorn. They may have crossed the Veil and the River, but we will warm them and light their way. And maybe - just maybe - they'll forgive me for not being with them when I needed them most."

"Bonn? I miss him sometimes - no, not really. I miss him all the time - once I finish my journey I'll go back to him and make him those cheese curds he knows and loves. But not yet. At least I know the kit's being taught well. I mean, Rellan's still with him. Not the best teacher, but he'll do."

"It's getting late. Sorry if you find my rambling annoying  - I swore you flickered a bit. I'm going to put you out now. Tomorrow's another marching day - we're going to head to the east a bit, and around this time I'll light you back up again. I thank you for your luminance, for your warmth and for always being by my side. Yeah, you've heard it all before - good night!"
