As admin, I don't typically like to make my personal preferences known as I don't want to influence the votes of others or push for a particular character. It's for this reason that admins usually abstain from doing review threads. That being said, I still want to talk about this excellent cast of characters currently in the running and so instead of talking about personal feelings, scores, or who I feel would be the perfect character to join Mekai, I'm instead going to discuss character combinations. Characters that I could see pair well together over the course of the story and have interesting dynamics, or conversations, or fights, or whatever. Basically if they fit- or completely don't- then I will include them. My only personal rule here is I will not pair together characters from the same category- so no Fiyero and Elliot- and I have to use EVERY character at least three times. So with that in mind, I suggest you ctrl-F through here if you want to find every instance of a specific character- Let's go-

[spoiler]Elliot/Elsabeth- Two people losing their titles
Elliot/Shahin- The Sword to his Shield
Elliot/Robin- One's skilled, one's not.
Fiyero/Antonia- Two skilled blademasters with escapades worth singing about. Names sound good together too.
Fiyero/Siler- TOSS A COIN TO YOUR SILER
Fiyero/Zandir- I'm sure a good song would ease those Burdens... or amplify them.
Bihto/Kiri- A tiny bird learns from her bigger counterpart how to put that knife of hers to use.
Bihto/Priideep- Not a duck, but possibly worse.
Bihto/Seamus- One's a jock, the other's a nerd. Bihto shoves him into a locker during gym.
Chitterfang/Merrill- The general oddity of Chitterfang and her quest to find herself mixed with Merrill's witchy 'spells' and knowing what she has, could prove to be compelling.
Chitterfang/Unga- The simple nature of both characters would likely make them quite the pleasant pair.
Chitterfang/Kiri- An odd one, but I could see Kiri taking advantage of Chitterfang's oafish nature to abuse her power in their vermin band
Elias/Lucan- (Likely) Banished Long Patrol Hare and an aspiring warrior about to have his dreams crushed.
Elias/Unga- Elias needs a foil
Elias/Siler- Tall, dark, and brooding would play off well with Siler's dark nature.
Ilka/Hawthorn- They've basically already met.
Ilka/Lucan- Ilka shattering this poor kids' worldview would be a lot of fun.
Ilka/Flauros- Flauros believes in Fate, Ilka in the Great Nothing. Everyone flees the Facebook arguments.
Elsabeth/Flauros- Money makes the world go round.
Elsabeth/Robin- Members of the social elite
Elsabeth/Antonia- Every time Elsabeth makes even a single coin, Antonia robs it from her.
Lucan/Smooths- A vermin with genuine heart meets a kid with a naive understanding of the world
Lucan/Kew-Kew- I could see the two of them trying to 'outplay' each other with traps and tricks.
Lucan/Priideep- Lucan would probably find Priideep to be a noble creature and interesting and worth learning from.
Merrill/Sheercrest- Two people who only desire to atone.
Merrill/Ilka- I think Ilka's skepticism would perfectly contrast Merrill's own practices. Merrill seeks true redemption, Ilka seeks 'redemption' but rather to be pointed more at the right beasts. Both beasts know exactly who they are. An incredibly underated pairing no one is really talking about.
Merrill/Flauros- Fate, magic, spells and money.
Bise/Seamus- Two birds on a boat who don't want to be there. One sees freedom on the edge of the world, the other in a forest of pages. Perhaps they could learn from the other.
Bise/Bihto- I feel Bihto could motivate Bise to stop being pushed around and to fight for her freedom.
Bise/Siobhan- Even though Bise is a bird, Siobhan feels like she's the savior of all women in need.
Dawl/Sheercrest- Dawl could watch Bray for Sheercrest, and Sheercrest could hover over Till. Their respective charges will certainly dislike this partnership no doubt.
Dawl/Rynn- Rynn is like Till except 100x more destructive.
Dawl/Chitterfang- Dawl is looking for his parents and isn't allowed to tell Till who she is. Chitterfang is looking for who she is.
Novak/Old One- One of the more interesting combos possible. Matched with a feral.
Novak/Kew-Kew- On the opposite spectrum, matched with someone who thinks they're a feral.
Novak/Bihto- I'm having images of them fighting together on a ship as torrents of spray splash against port and starboard, and it just works to me.
Ashtad/Smooths- A guilty man who could prove to be innocent in the end.
Ashtad/Ilka- Similar in nature. Is Ilka worth the 'redemption' she wants?
Ashtad/Siler- Siler and Ashtad become the Law of the land.
Kew-Kew/Chitterfang- Who is I?
Kew-Kew/Smooths- Smooths needs a new friend and it's this guy. Rated PG. Out this Friday.
Kew-Kew/Seamus- Every bird works with Kew-Kew, but this is his best companion. I see Seamus getting very annoyed constantly trying to explain with his books that Kew-Kew. Is. Not. A bird. Kew-Kew only believes him after trying to fly and changing his name to Mrs. Nesbit.
Old One/Sheercrest- the dangerous feral would probably scare Sheercrest if he ever goes near Bray. - That being said they're also both predators.
Old One/Chitterfang- A character with no identity paired with someone looking for theirs.
Old One/Fiyero- Old One can't hear, but I imagine Fiyero would still sing along with him.
Priideep/Unga- I just think them both wanting to protect their youth would be pretty sweet and I think they'd be charming together
Priideep/Kew-Kew- I think Kew-Kew's traps would aid in protecting the tads, and I think they'd just be interesting together.
Priideep/Dawl- I just think this combo could work pretty well. Nothing more.
Shahin/Old One- Shahin's love for history makes me think he'd want to know Old One's.
Shahin/Siobhan- Siobhan wouldn't approve of how he emotionally manipulates his SO- though this is only true depending on if Etienne thinks mercenary work is 'honest.' Alternatively, they both want to protect someone they care about.
Shahin/Dawl- Both beasts who say they have to keep someone safe.
Sheercrest/Ashtad- Does Sheercrest need to atone, or is she already innocent?
Sheercrest/Unga- Kids these days...
Sheercrest/Rynn- Misguided kids
Flauros/Elias- Something I just think could work.
Flauros/Antonia- Flauros' hypocrisy for his ideals could prove for some conflict with Antonia who seems to follow her path with true dedication.
Flauros/Fiyero- The expert marksbeast Flauros and the dancing flash walk into a bar. The only survivors are the plates on the tables.
Siler/Siobhan- An arrangement that would lead to disaster.
Siler/Antonia- Either Antonia would kill him, or they'd work together to kill people they think go against the law.
Siler/Dawl- I could see Dawl getting incredibly defensive about his sister especially when a scumbag like Siler's around.
Unga/Lucan- Gotta keep those kids on the straight and narrow.
Unga/Rynn- Probably her best combo. Misguided Rynn throwing fits all the time and Unga trying to steer her in the right direction.
Unga/Ilka- Speaking of steering in the right direction. Unga is the bow to Ilka's arrow.
Antonia/Lucan- I could see Lucan trying to join her merry band and defeat evil doers.
Antonia/Elliot- Swordfights, swashbuckling. That is all.
Antonia/Ashtad- The Executioner and her Judge.
Kiri/Hawthorn- The idea of a sparrow and a redwaller makes me think of a twisted version of Warbeak and Matthias.
Kiri/Robin- Could help her with her planning, because boy does she need it.
Kiri/Lucan- I feel Kiri could manipulate Lucan into believing she's similar to Antonia. The people they're robbing are bad people and Lucan's skillset could be useful to get the drop on them.
Smooths/Robin- Buncha clumsy doofuses.
Smooths/Hawthorn- Clumsy guy meets the surgeon.
Smooths/Rynn- I feel like they'd work well together.
Hawthorn/Lucan- Dark side of Redwall
Hawthorn/Elliot- Both skilled at what they do all while being fairly reserved. Could give some beasts a good 'grim reminder'.
Hawthorn/Old One- There's something about two older creatures- one working with surgical precision and the other with grim determination- that feels right to me.
Siobhan/Antonia- Both have roughly the same goals.
Siobhan/Ashtad- Bring justice to those who deserve it.
Siobhan/Fiyero- Two beasts who aren't who they say they are.
Robin/Kew-Kew- It's like Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner except it's a very unlucky fox and a guy who thinks he's a bird.
Robin/Siler- could teach her some cold efficiency.
Robin/Kiri- Kiri sets the plan, Robin's bad luck ruins it.
Rynn/Lucan- Two kids running away and finding themselves. It's like Moonrise Kingdom but with ghost puppets.
Rynn/Bise- Two creatures who essentially want freedom.
Rynn/Merrill- Two people who just want to help.
Seamus/Priideep- Seamus needs to see interesting things out there in the world, Priideep is one.
Seamus/Chitterfang- With Seamus' bookish knowledge and Chitterfang's clues, they could discover what Chitterfang has lost.
Seamus/Shahin- Buncha' dorks.
Zandir/Old One- Nothing too much to their relationship, but Zandir is an anime character and imagining him being followed around by a terrifying predator just sounds like it'd be a cool scene visually.
Zandir/Ilka- Their lack of faith in their causes could prove for interesting camaraderie.
Zandir/Elias- Someone just as fierce as he.[/spoiler]

HUFF. HUFF. HUFF. I DID IT. Every character, at least 3 combinations.
