Predictions-part II

Now that the official story is done, and we have some epilogues to pine away for, I thought it might be interesting to see how the other members of the audience thought the story would pan out (my original Top Three included Revel, Damask, and Rath  :P), and share many hearty laughs when we realize how wrong we were.

I thought the top three were gonna be Revel, Damask and Bell, placing in that order. :P Then again, I'm still reading the beginning of week 4, so..

I'd kind of hoped that Deadtail would have made it farther. I saw him as a sort of improved Greenfang, and rooting for him was the next best thing to getting Greeny (who, by the way, is feeling rather put out due to lack of fanart) in the contest.

Based on reactions to apps alone, I predicted a Revel, Rath, and Eliza top three early on.

...I was close! :P

I also predicted, based on apps, that Deady would be the last or second to last one eliminated, so not so close on that. I guessed his whole shunning leadership thing would be what made him fall just short (which is stupid because that was his BEST CHARACTER TRAIT YOU MURDERERS ;_;), but it apparently made him fall a bit shorter than expected. XD

Other than that...I hadn't the vaguest idea. It was really interesting to sit back and watch the votes fall into place each week. It was extremely difficult to predict their outcome beforehand. And some weeks there'd be a tie juuust up until the last minute, so it was suspenseful even for me, the one who could actually see the results as they came in. :P

Based on the initial response to apps: Revel, Eliza, and Venril. As the weeks went by, it became: Rath, Eliza, Venril. Then, when it was down to the final five (before seeing any of the votes for the final three): Bell, Damask, and Eliza. After seeing the actual numbers for the final three, if Damask had stayed, I suspect it would have been: Eliza, Damask, and Revel. I didn't have much hope for a long and fruitful career early on when Su died and Bell was left as the only woodlander. Funny how things turn out, eh?

My thought went to a Eliza - Bellona race right from Week Two.  My biggest concern was the final survivor.  I figured when it got down to five, the winner of the love triangle would become the third.  When Damask was forced to withdraw and Venril died, Revel slipped into the final spot.

I must say that I thought Revel's strategy for survival the best, and possibly the most novel one in Survivor history.  My mind couldn't imagine anyone being so cruel as to kill off a pregnant character.  And before the readers start throwing things my way, let me emphasize that if Revel's writer did not come across as a strong writer, even that could not save her.

Think I can reveal the fact that Revel and I had many long discussions regarding her role.  Regardless of my thoughts, the objective is to be one of the three finalist.  Revel's strategy proved better than mine.  Her finish was well earned.

Let me correct that: /most/ have the objective of the top 3. My proof of this is that I intentionally moved to tank the love triangle when we left the caves because I thought it was interfering with the main story and slighting everyone else. Further proof is that we never stopped collaboratively posting. I think that for this group (at least most of us), writing a good story and enjoying ourselves came before competition.

Heh, well, it worked on you, it appears! Not necessarily everyone else though, because every contestant received at least one death vote at some point during the contest, even Little Miss Preggers. :P

"Little" Miss Preggers?  :D

It wasn't my intention to avoid votes with it really. I just wanted to write a preggo! I also didn't really have getting in the top 3 as a goal. It was enough for me just to get in at all. So thank you everyone who didn't vote for me and thought I was a winner.  :)


My predictions were mostly Rath, Eliza and Bellona.

(I am also writing my epilogue! I got distracted for a week or two but it shouldn't be many more days left now.)

Unless you throw out Syc's little "I voted for everyone" escapade... then Liza never got a death vote. Lucky dog that she is.

Well, my initial predictions from reading the apps, before any speculation was something like this:

1st - Revel
2nd - Bellona
3rd - Damask
4th - Rath
5th - Eliza
6th - Keane
7th - Deadtail
8th - Venril
9th - Suellyn

I figured that, with the caliber of writing that was going on, we'd see a pretty strong final six or so, and at that point people would vote me off for being a character who was essentially useless in a survival situation.

I think my top 9 looked exactly the same!

Well, except flip Rath and I. I didn't think Dammy would make the top 3.

(But, yeah, as I said during the contest. When we got to the top 5 or 6... it was really anyone's contest, I thought.)
