Weasel-y Scribbles

[Tooley Bostay]

So, alongside plotting story stuffs with the others, I was inspired by all the great art going around to do a little bit of doodling in the meanwhile. Hope you guys enjoy. :)

This is a collage of all the members of the Silver Maiden crew. Really enjoyed designing this, and working out each character's different look. Probably got a few details wrong here and there, but I had a lot of fun doing this.


And, as a bonus, a little sketch of Tooley. This was actually done before the top 10 were announced, mainly to get a better image in my head of what he'd look like.


I may update this now and then, depending on if I have time during the contest. I'm sure there will be some scenes that I'll want to draw, so we'll see!

My goodness, what a crop of cuties! I see this and immediately think two-sided cover for a book made from this contest (with pirates on one side and waverunners on the other.) Man, turning these contest stories into full books would be a legal and logistics nightmare, but things like this get me thinking.

Too cute, Tooley. How is papa Chak and mama Ciera gonna keep all those rascals in line? Not our Rascal of course. Well, maybe her/him too, heh.

Aw, thanks, Matra! That's really kind of you to say. If not a book cover, then definitely some of those "pre-story" inserts that detail the characters. Like they'd introduce the Corsairs' applications section, then the Waverunners. Ack, now you got me brainstorming!

I was considering doing a Waverunner piece as well, but it depends on if there's interest, and if I can get a good idea in my head of what that would look like.

[Rascal]

Rascal is a him, and is kept in line by varrying degrees of free food (namely pie) and picture of cute and fluffy animals! 8D

Oh Wilson, you are going to suffer such a horrible fate for being too lazy to get into the contest and  get yourself drawn into such beautifull art work! :)

This conversation also makes me realize that I keep forgetting important ; people don't know me here :D

With out spilling too much personal details Rascal's player is again, a 'him' in midwest America and is in adulthood although my cronic use of ':D' emotes often get's me cofused for someone a lot younger. I find them usefull to convay emotion though because as you have seen, I can be very sapping in my writing and don't like people to confuse what I say.

That and my spelling is horrible. I'll blame using a cell phone to type for that one. It's hard to type effectivly when you have such big meaty hand typing on an itty bitty virtual keyboard.

But that's getting away from the subject at hand. Sorry about that. The art is wonderfull. I will feel so BAD about killing off these characters D8

You've already shown me these, but I'm still going to comment here as well. They both look fantastic, obviously. I love how you've captured each one's character. And I agree with Matra, I'd love to see what you do with the Waverunners as well.

Ah! How long has this been up and I didn't notice until now! Guess I've been distracted after the activity seemed to die off so abruptly. That had better mean that all you writers are just very busy writing!

Tooley your art is most excellent! Your sketch of your character Tooley especially seems to perfectly embody his temperament (from what I can tell). So much personality going on with the pirates there! I am overjoyed to have another artist around to talk shop with!

We actually happen to have a number of artists in this contest, so hopefully you should be getting an art flood, Vizon! But seriously, thank you for the kind words - Rascal and Airan as well. That means a lot. And if you ever want to talk art, then feel free! It's more of a hobby for me, but I'm always up for a good chat. :)

I am considering that Waverunner picture more and more, but I'll have to have time apart from all the writing.

Hmm... that's actually a pretty cool idea! Does Salamandastron or the badgers happen to have any symbol attached to them? Don't recall in the books I've read, but maybe you chaps'll know.

Aaand next is a drawing of our dear otter, Wilson Willow, who - alas - didn't make it into the contest. Hope you're still readin' along, Rascal, mate!


I'm not even gonna try explaining the context behind this one. I'll suffice it to say that within the jovial (and sometimes nonsensical) chats in the Skype group, we discovered that Fildering is truly the hippest of hoppin' hares.

I love your art! Really like the group pieces. The anchor and wheel are super fun, haha! Tooley's adorbs, and oh my god, is that a flatcap??!
