The Jerk

's what I do best, darling!

And besides, you know you love it.

Wolverine

Hello, all. Any RedScape-ers will probably recognize me, but I'm probably a tad more mysterious to the rest of you.

Salutations.  ;)
Pre-emptively cheering on the following top nine names: Cyrus, Whiver Bean, Greenfang, Elin Sarkozy, Deadtail, Hazenval, Eliza Lacrimosa, Damask the Minstrel, and Alethia.

Nallmian

Hello, hello!

It took me a few days to register on the forums, but I was glad to see that there's another contest going on.  The more the merrier.

Nallmian:   *Tosses a chipmunk into oncoming traffic*  Is there gonna be death and destruction and everything?  Awesome!

Yes, and you can't be a part of it.

Nallmian:  Yeah, but being undead has its perks.  *Covers self in glitter glue*  There.  That should do it.  Sparkly undead types have fangirls all over them!

*Sigh*

Dozystoat

There's only one thing I know to do when it comes to the undead.

Don't take this personally ... it's just a habit.

*chainsaw revving sounds*

*snort* Wot? Can't a stoat nap without someone screamin' bloody murder? Y'should hear yerself snore someday!

I just noticed this:  :weaselly: I absolutely love it, but I must contest the use of "weaselly" - notice the tail tip. It is obviously a stoat. Now, you may say, "Hold on, maybe it's a long-tailed weasel!" But then I'd say, "Why is there a long-tailed weasel emoticon in a writing contest based on a specifically British cultured universe, when the long-tailed weasel is an American species?" To which you may have a snarky comeback (probably along the lines of, "Well, it doesn't say weasel specifically, it just says "weaselly" and you can't deny that a stoat is a very weaselly creature,") and I'll be left stuttering incoherently in rage.

Also, the black tip could be a bit poofier.

(I still love it, though. XD Majorly. As in, you have no idea how much I want to just post a thousand of those and forget about text entirely.)

... um. So.

Isn't there usually some sort of speculative conversation or something, about the contest, characters we'll see, what sort of hats may be worn by the judges...?

I have been glomped!

Judges? Who said there were judges?
*loud belching noise*

What I'M interested in is when the artist is going to be selected.

Ooh er, well, the artist has already been selected. I think this is some kind of record, too! The portrait art will be done by none other than the magnificent Therin (Tseegadu on dA)! However, if anyone wants to draw illustrations for weekly summaries (which will give me more incentive to do them this time), they're welcome to it.

:weaselly: Heyy, it IS a stoat! I didn't even notice the tiny little tail tip. I just stole it off some free emoticon site that had it labeled as a weasel. Might I change it to :stoaty: instead? :P

Dozystoat

I was just being obtuse. XD (Although I wouldn't mind if someone formed an elite guard and stormed that website to make THEM change it...)

Question!

What will you be using to count the words of an app? I've noticed different website word-counters, and indeed different programs, all return different values. 600 may be 612 in another - 630 could be 657. And what's 570 could be returned as 549 ... Odd things. So - would it be safe to go by Microsoft Word (2003)'s count?

Opal

Yes, just go off the Microsoft Word version. I'll make sure I keep the differences in mind. If you just keep it close to the word limit you'll be fine. I just didn't relish reading 50+ novels in the space of three weeks, and I'm pretty sure none of the judges did either. Plus, I rather enjoy torturing you all. ;D

Hello everyone. ^_^

(This is like a game of "guess who everyone is on the ROC" XD)

Ealasaid

*lurks*

Indeed, Saffy. It's especially difficult when one changes one's name of seven years on the ROC. *snerk*

Don't have to guess with me.  I now use the same ID wherever I go online.  Makes it a lot easier not having to remember a dozen different names.

In life, the only thing that ever adds up is a column of numbers.
