Some random Chak trivia fer those outside the know:

1. Chak weren't me first pick at first, outta me 3 application entries. I were ruther 'ell bent on bein' Pasha, actually. Airan 'ad ta not only convince me ta vote fer Chak, but ta take on the role. Glad I did.

2. Chak were actually named after the Kuril Islands, the place o' 'is distant ancestry. The name jus' 'appened ta sound like "cruel" an' 'e went wi' it. 'Is first name be derived from Alaskan names.

3. IRL I'm married to "Scully."

4. Reedox were ne'er serposed ta be as important a character as Minstrel, but after Zevka's "Red Shirt" comment, I were determined ta make 'im an integral part o' Chak's development. I weren't plannin' on ever 'avin' Reedox fergive Chak, though I were plannin' on 'avin' 'im come ta not want ter kill 'im. I still wouldn' say 'e's exactly fergiven Chak per se, but they be closer ta friends than Reedox 'ud ever admit, simply through shared experience.

5. Robert's author was goin' ta pull outta the contest in Round 3 er 4, which upset all me plans fer puttin' Chak on the right path (who else would/could 'elp 'im make that transition?). I ended up shovin' all me plans together inta a couple o' posts ta try an' get in all the mos' important stuff afore Rob vanished, but then 'e changed 'is mind an' stuck around after all. So the transition 'appened a lot faster than I'd originally planned, but I think it turned out fer the best. Minstrel didn' become a more importan' character (which mighta o'ershadowed Chak), an' Chak were still able ta gradually adopt Robert's advice.

A well-deserved win. A round of applause for Vizon. Looks like a lot of the cast made it here by her influence, so I hope you had fun and will stick around for the next contest. Ya'll made a great tale full of wonderful characters.

Oh my glob. Look at all of this beautiful work. I'm positively in love with the album and cd covers. Chak: Harsh n Growly and REEDOX (you can only say the name in all caps and with an 80s guitar squeal) sound like my kind of albums. Please, please, please share the track list if you're willing.

Were most of these posted on the private forum? The comic is especially neat because it fits the writing so well. I imagined the island, the characters, and the transitions much the same.

And Tooley drew the second picture? Is there anyone on this cast / community that isn't a graphic artist?

Easy ter do. Gotta say though, I made the music list first an' then decided ta break it inta Chak an' Minstrel. So a lot o' the music (especially on Minstrel's CD) ain't 'zactly the perfect fit fer the characters. Chak's be a li'l more relevant as it mostly be Tom Waits anyway. But Reedox's CD Mix be the most faithful ta the character as it were created wi' Reedox in mind. Turns out ta be one o' me favorites ta jam ta while drivin'.

6. I were pregnant durin' most o' the contest

7. Hence, I were throwin' up pretty much on a daily basis from mid-August ta mid-October. I be feelin' better this month. A funny side note be...I actually did wear a kerchief o'er me face like Chak while changin' the one-year-old's sulfurous diapers...(bein' extra sensitive ta smells an' all at this time).

8. All o' July Scully an' I were vacationin' in rural Montana whar we 'ad vury limited innernet access an' only one o' us could be online at a time (thar were one vury specific sweet spot in the 'ouse whar reception were good enough ta use Skype). Hence, Scully were not as present as 'e might 'ave been otherwise (I were more chatty).

9. At the end o' July, we met up wi' Crue, Xorvath, an' Vera fer a Rootbeer an' Reveal party durin' which we guessed who was who an' compared a slew o' obscure rootbeers ta decide what be the best. Tooley an' Airan joined us via Skype voice chat. So most everyone knew I were Vizon since July. T'were a little bit o' a spoiler, but allowed fer a lot o' art stuff ta 'appen, as ye can see.

10. We 'ope ta keep the "Art Room" goin' e'en after the contest be complete (still workin' on epilogues). If any o' the other artists 'round 'ere 'ud like ta join the Art Room on Skype, jus' lemme know (looks pointedly at Foxpen). Mos'ly we'll be talkin' shop an' sharin' current projects. Mayhaps doin' challenges an' collaborations.

This was round 2 actually and Rob managed to stick it out despite his crazy schedule, which was overall good for Chak and Rob both, and very good for the overall story. So, thanks a lot there, Rob :P

Goodness, no wonder the story came together so well. You look like such a merry band even if you're armed and scowling. All this meeting up and camaraderie...I'm jealous! Couldn't tell from the audience side I things either. Each of you live in the same area? How long have you known one another?

Right there with Vera and Cr?e. Stick figures and hand turkeys are my best efforts. But what's this about an art room? Where do we find it?

No, only Vera, Crue, and Feorag live in the same place. Scully and I were visiting family there and took advantage of our proximity. I went to high school with Feorag, and Vera was a friend of a friend in high school. So. I've known them roughly 17 years. Crue's with Feorag, and it's been a great opportunity to get to know her more. I used to role play and write with Vera & Feorag (and Vera's husband) as well as Plink, though she was chiefly an online friend and still lives far away (but we stay in touch and get together once in a blue moon). There were some others I invited who did not join in or apply also. One was getting married at the time the apps were due, and one is a very busy lawyer.

Speaking of having busy careers, I'm surprised I was able to get Scully in this at all. He's rather busy himself as a university instructor. So this might be his first and last contest. But I'm glad he was able to do it. It's been tons of fun.

And Matra, you've been a wonderful driving force. You wouldn't believe the excitement behind the scenes when one of your posts showed up. Thanks a million for sticking around and being so present despite your own schedule and busyness.
