Wow...that was the greatest answer to a rhetorical question I have ever seen.  :P

Magical Fish

Thanks, Nallmian! I'm Canadian, though, so I think there are slightly different factors involved ;).

But seriously, you get an A for effort.

Ah, yes... the dreaded "air puff" machine.  I'm pretty much okay with anything the eye doctor throws at me now, but that still makes me flinch like crazy >_>

And it took me weeks until I could condition myself to put in contacts.  I'm fine with them now, but it still wasn't ver' much fun.

Magical Fish

Me too, Balmafula. It would take me about 20 minutes to get one in. Now, of course, I can't even remember what the big deal was!

I chose the numbing method when I had to get a tooth removed. They pulled out a HUGE needle (1/4 diameter?) and I think the tip hit my jawbone. I don't care much for small needles. It's the big ones that aren't so good.

Never had much of a problem with contacts. After the first week or so of fumbling about, you get used to it.

Personally, I prefer my obsolete glasses ( 8)). I do NOT like the feeling of something constantly touching my eye. Creepy.

Point is, you don't feel 'em.

Balmafula

You really don't.  It's amazing!

I remember when I first got them I'd periodically reach up to adjust my invisible "glasses" XD

Nallmian

I had a nightmarish experience with contact lens.  It took me about 20 minutes to get one in, and then over an hour to get the damn lens out of my eye again.  Ever since then, I've stuck to eyeglasses.

I also have a low level color vision deficiency.  I don't like to use the term "color-blindness" because mine is a very minor deficiency.  I can easily distinguish between red and green signal lights, and have never had any confusion with ink, clothing, etc.  On the other paw, I can't pass that test where they have a bunch of tiny dots with lots of subtle shade distinctions.

saffy

Just. Got. My. Copics!  :D Not that anyone cares...

Balmafula

There was one time when I tried those "disposable" lenses... and it ended up ripping in my eye.  It was good fun fishing half a contact out of my eye, let me tell ya.

Stonewall

I prefer my contacts. Mainly because I look terrible in glasses.
I am the game, and I want to play

Ulrick Hammerpaw

I wore contacts for a while, one night I fell asleep with them in. That wasn't fun the next morning...  :-[

*Laughs* Yeah, I did that too.

I feel asleep in them pretty recently and it didn't cause much irritation. That doesn't mean there were no side effects (bloodshot). They should develop contacts you can wear continuously.

Mine were monthly ones, so they were pretty thick. I was only supposed to wear them for 12 hours max. When I woke up, I could barely open my eyes, because the lenses had stuck to my eyelids, and then gone all dry and crinkly. Bad times.  :P
