Two suggestions, Syc: Go to the nearest chain auto parts place (Autozone, for instance) and see if they have a Chilton's/Haynes you can borrow/buy. They're, essentially, manuals that tell you everything about your car and how to fix it.

Also, check your fuses. If the fuse to the starter has gone out, it's a quick $2 fix.

Got the manual. It's pointing to a wiring issue, that's why I'm jumping to that conclusion. I also picked up a little voltmeter light, and it won't turn on when I put it to the starter connections, so I feel that's even futher evidence. I'll check the fuses, that's a good idea. Thanks!

The worst case scenario is I have to rewire the car, which will be a huge pain, but might be fun, too! I'm half excited and half raving mad.

Anyone here ever noticed that school will teach you things like cosine and Shakespeare and whatnot, but I've never seen a class called Car Repair 101 or Cheap Cooking for College Students? It's like they don't want to teach you anything useful.

Sparrowhawk

There are home ec and auto classes! I think. My school has them, anyway.

They had automotive classes when I was in high school at certain schools.  The same for home economics, aka, cooking.  These classes were very sexist back then.  (Early 1960's to 1970's)  Males only in the first and girls in the other.

Some of the more progressive schools had these as optional classes on the weekend for those who didn't qualify and these allowed the opposite sex to participate.  For example, anyone taking the college prep courses were never offered these classes, even as an elective.

Most of these didn't draw too many students because they came at a cost, and the parents of public school students either yelled discrimination or racism because they figured such things should be free.  Needless to say, in our city they stopped providing these classed outside the normal school hours in the early 1970's, claiming cost and lack of interest.

Aww, Syc! *hugs*

I definitely know the feeling, being that I currently own four vehicles which don't run. (A Firefly which doesn't go above 40, a Stanza which eats batteries for breakfast, a Camaro which runs beautifully, unless it's winter (which it almost always is, here) and unless you want things like interior lights, power locks, cigarette-lighter plugins, wiper fluid, or the horn, and a Silverado whose engine blew up because the hood wouldn't open, thus eliminating my ability to put oil in.)

Hope things improve you for soon, Treedog!

My Jeep was a similar beast, leaked four types of fluids and rattled windows as it passed-by. I'm very glad we replaced it. ^.^

Quote from: VeniOkay, NOW the post is up.  Sorry about that little mixup, folks.  I forgot that Liza had not yet shown posted the part where Liza goes to take a bath and gets her dress stolen.

Well, thanks for the spoiler.

Well, thanks for the spoiler.

Think you had it bad, I read Venril's before he pulled it.  When I came back to reread, it had been yanked.  Then comes Eliza's post.  Yeah, it filled in the blanks, but in all honesty, Venril posting first didn't reveal much and the missing post might have explained how our lady got from Point A to Point B, but it did nothing else.  And here I'm talking story, not character.  There our aristocratic lady remains true to her nature.

That's true, and I probably could have posted it after Venril, but I didn't want to cause any concerns with the timeline.

Sorry for the confusion, everyone.

I liked the whole dress thing. Every story needs more comedic moments like Eliza shouting at the end. XD

Still enjoying the story so far, but I have to ask: who came up with the name Fritterik? 'Cos, I'm totally getting this vibe out of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oK-u6X3BP8 ... and I'm not sure I should be.

Last night Highwing sponsored a chat room to celebrate the holiday.  There were seven of us discussing the contestants in RV-5.  Then the death post went up and we all discussed who we voted for and why.  Best part was ranking the remaining six contestants.  Nothing of a clear concensus about first, but a general agreement on the ones we favored for top three.

Did anyone manage to save a log? I would dearly like to have been there to see it! I saw Ashira's advertisement but I decided to make dinner instead. I've never been able to figure out chatrooms anyway.

Thank you Dozystoat! I don't remember who came up with the name for the Fritterik but you've reminded me of my old love for Final Fantasy music.  :D It's given me a great inspiration for my next post.
And I hope that you know that nature is so
This same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land, and forests and sand,
Makes the beautiful world that you'll see in the morning

To all reviewers, past and present, thank you! I don't always find something to say in reply to each reviewer but I do my best to read them and will take their advice as best I can. You are appreciated!

Deadtail, stabbed by an overenthusiastic student.  At least that was our interpritation of the latest post.

EDIT:Confirmation received as Week Four is missing Deadtail's name.
