That would have gone over my head  if you hadn't pointed it out . . . it still is . . .  like a riddle and when you find out the answer it's obvious. It's familiar.

WAIT. Han Solo never said that line or anything close to it? Ever?

No, I actually can't find evidence that he ever uttered those exact words on TVTropes OR imdb. Apparently other people have false memories of him saying it, though. Weird.

Disregard what I just said, Cairn! Link is the one true progenitor of that particular catchphrase.

Rath the Whirlwind

It does sound like something he'd say, really, so I wouldn't have been surprised.
I am the white void.  I am the cold steel.  I am the just blade.  With axe in paw shall I reap the sins of this world and cleanse it in the fires of destruction.  I am the Whirlwind; the end has come!

i believe the Han Solo line was, "well, excuse me, Your Worship." but he called her princess as well.

What has this thread of mine become??

Time you grab the lead and offer up a few comments on the posts to date.  If you don't want to go back, how about offering a list of the canidates still remaining and your opinion as to what each needs to do if they intend making it to week six.

I think Rath has given me my favorite title to date.

Well, I do admire its simplicity.  Having him die from the poisoned bite of the lizard was a good idea.  The wiggling tail was a good use of animal mannerisms.  And how many reading the death post noticed the plural near the end?

Jarrtail

Just reread that...very powerful little scene with Keane there.
One thing that could have been possible, had Rath survived, is that what with Matukhana being out of commision and Nivard apparently run to the ground, Rath would have been a good choice for replacement captain. It would be interesting to see how he handles the responsibility.

i saw it and i didn't read the pre-post in the contestants forum so i got the full effect of it along with the audience. yeah i think seeing his body giving out with his good eyes and walking peacefully on into  the forest was pretty powerful. *weep*

Welcome to Dark Forest, Rathy. Come see me and we'll have some tea.

LOL.  It's nice knowing you regained your appetite in death.  Wonder if you now resemble the steriotypical hedgehog - fat.  Sorry, that's how BJ describes hedgehogs, fat, lazy, or both.  Thank goodness he does occassionally offer us active hedgehogs, though they still tend to a wide girth.
