Lord knows I pushed for Meadowbrook.

Quote from: The Humblest Otter in the WorldMEADOWBROOK

Aside from being the most ridiculous of the bunch, Meadowbrook's audition was way over the top. Fire, really? Are we really using fire? It's as though we're trying to play the tragedy card as hard as possible, almost coming off as unbelievable. I didn't seem to get her, either. She's weak, yet she can withstand a drawn out round of whipping, fire, AND salt water? Why isn't she dead? Really, the only good thing she's got going for her is her name, which is BEAUTIFUL, by the way. And maybe her possible potential with other characters, Remy, Ashpaw, or Thalon for some suggestions. I don't know. Meadowbrook would do extremely well for the entire story's dose of emo.

I can't believe she got in.
And then he DIED!!!

Revel

Cairn, you seem to have time to comment on other reviewers - would you mind commenting on the contestants, or at least leave poor Sycamore alone? I'm sorry if this sounds rude, it just looks like you're picking fights to me and I'm more interested about what your thoughts on current events are than your opinion on Sycamore's honour. I still have no idea what you think about Revel, and Meadowbrook's story is over now.
And I hope that you know that nature is so
This same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land, and forests and sand,
Makes the beautiful world that you'll see in the morning

To all reviewers, past and present, thank you! I don't always find something to say in reply to each reviewer but I do my best to read them and will take their advice as best I can. You are appreciated!

Aye. I'd like to hear your opinions, as well, sir. Either openly on the board or via PM. You can be as harsh with our characters as you want because they're just little fictional things that don't have minds of their own. But accusing a real person without just cause of influencing voting in his favor is uncalled for. If you want to bring up a legitimate concern about such things, I would suggest a PM rather than the open forum.

Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:

Rode the six hundred.

Fighting with Sycamore?  Far from it.  Though I had my doubts on his otter character, I do believe Sycamore will confirm I did indeed pull for the angst otter in that contest.  And as you said, that story is done.

After my experiences in QB-3 through QB-5, I should have learned my lesson.  But the old hedgehog is a bit dense.  You are right, I have not given my opinions regarding this cast of characters.  Don't intend to do it either.  From the beginning I said I would only offer private comments.  Now I'm regretting doing anything more than reading and/or voting.

I promise, this will be the final post.
In life, the only thing that ever adds up is a column of numbers.

Jarrtail

Unfortunately. We value your opinion, Cairn, and I'm sure everyone would like to hear it. If you had bad experiances in QB, that's no reason to be prejudiced against Redventure or expect people to act the same way when confronted with something that may be interpreted as hostile.

Revel

Oh Cairn! This is making me really sad and distressed. If you just want to read and vote that's fine, but please don't sulk (I'm sorry I can't think of a better term for it) I didn't see your offer for private comments. If you have anything to share please PM me?

I'm trying so hard not to cry right now, I've never bullied anyone off a forum. Please don't go like this?

He shouldn't, for sure. I can agree with Cairn that he certainly has a right to post his opinions on the characters, but he may be exaggerating the amount of hostility that he is receiving from this forum. I certainly cannot recall an instance in which anyone here has been bullied, and this is the only argument that comes to mind is this one. The best thing for all parties involved would probably be to forgive and forget.

Sycamore

Eeeep.

Let me say that I do not see Cairn as a threat, and that I rather enjoy the conversations and banter between us. And yes, I believe that Cairn was quite a fan for most, if not all of QBV.

Now, that's not to say I don't appreciate your words, Revel. You are quite sweet to come to my aid. You too, Bells. *huggles*

Now, Cairn pointed this out to me via pm, but this is your contest. I realized this earlier, but didn't mention it in hopes that it would be the last time such a thing occurred, but half of this thread has been about QBV and not RV5. That's really quite embarrassing to me. So now I offer my own apologies for being so easily sidetracked and not as focused as I hoped to be.

I'm intimidated with the amount of posts that have been uploaded. I don't think I'll be doing post by post reviews comments like I wanted to, but in all honesty I've been feeling rather comfortable just throwing things out there as I see them. As such, I think what I'm going to do is a massive post, and then I'll be all caught up.
And then he DIED!!!

Opal

Woah. How did I miss this entire exchange until just now? **kicks forums**

Cairn, I hope at least that if you don't feel like reviewing publicly, you'll consider at least reviewing via PMs. Because your reviews in QBV really were very helpful to me, and it'd be a shame if you stopped reviewing altogether. And you're always welcome to post here, too. :)

Yes. You can post here all you want. I just read through the QBV forum, and I was appalled. If that is what happened to such a formerly well-respected site, I...I don't know what to say. Reminds me of Stalinist Russia, almost. You can post here all you want, mate.

If, you know, instead of Communism the central ideological concern was Redwall fandom and instead of killing you or deporting you to a hellish labor camp or causing an artificial famine in Ukraine they did things like flaming people.

I was actually referring to the censoring of free speech and overpowered moderators, but you make a good point. The analogy was most certainly at least partly flawed.

Sycamore

Revel's post made me really sad at the end.
And then he DIED!!!

Jarrtail

Yeah, poor Rev. She's so simple, yet she understands a lot. She'll make it far into the contest, I'll bet.
