Bellona Littlebrush

This is really quite impressive, Ms. Argyll. *applauds* And if there aren't quite enough guests at that ball, Liza, I can have Bell raise an army in my epilogue and sound off the roster. ;)
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Revel

;D I can name all of Revel's future kits. Is fifteen enough??
And I hope that you know that nature is so
This same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land, and forests and sand,
Makes the beautiful world that you'll see in the morning

To all reviewers, past and present, thank you! I don't always find something to say in reply to each reviewer but I do my best to read them and will take their advice as best I can. You are appreciated!

Hush, all of you, or you won't get a Top 3 portrait from me.=P Anyway, fixed Bulgam's name (deepest apologies, Deadtail!) and added in the kits and Hope.

(Random Side Note: Every time I read Revel's post titled "And the Sky May Look Blue", I had Electric Light Orchestra's "Mr. Blue Sky" playing in my head. XD)

Jarrtail

Miss Argyll, this is a masterful work of art. You have my everlasting respect.

NPC's (A ? M)

A
Adeny (MOUSE) ? Oasis Dweller and Heir of Loamhedge (Subsequently: Former Leader of the Oasis)

Adeny has appeared only in flashback in the story proper. She was the wife of Ritchin and was one of the first Oasis dwellers to discover the Fritterik who escaped many seasons before the action of the main storyline. She was a compassionate mouse who readily watched over the freed Fritterik and tried to teach them how to be good. She was especially distraught when she learned that the food the Oasis dwellers dropped into the caves went to feed other Fritterik because the failure of the Oasis crops meant (to her) that the Fritterik would have surely starved, as well. When the first plague came to the Oasis because of the freed Fritterik, Adeny was forced to kill her husband, who had contracted the plague, to keep him from attacking their son. She became the leader of the Oasis following Ritchin's demise and had the Fritterik driven out into the desert by her friend Rigstern.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Interlude: Rugger

Adriak (PINE MARTEN) ? Slaver and Master of the Srechrrl

Adriak was a charismatic, handsome, insane pine marten who had originally chased after Baez with his mate, Kelly, when the hedgehog escaped from his slaveline. The marten became sick with the Oasis plague while trapped in the tunnels and would have likely died without Medjool's unintentional intervention. He was a vain, pompous individual who used to watch the gladiatorial fights in Southsward before he was trapped. He appears to have been a sociopath, as well, able to condemn and or save a beast without a change in affect. He devised the plan of a free-for-all fight between the mushroom search party with the winner earning the curative mushrooms themselves, and free passage out of Srechrrl territory.

When the final battle began, he was guarded by Birch and Quentin on the viewing ledge he and Kelly had used to watch the fight. He was tortured by Bellona Littlebrush for information on the mushrooms' whereabouts, but did not break. Eventually, he and Kelly had a falling out when he insulted her child and she revealed information about the mushrooms. He was sealed in his throne chamber with Kelly to die.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Now I Feel Like I'm The Flower...

Alabaster Kildare (MOUNTAIN HARE) ? Recruit in Martin's Shadow

Alabaster never appeared in the story proper, but was referenced by Bellona Littlebrush. He was Gideon "Giddy" Kildare's elder brother who joined Martin's Shadow before his little brother arrived. Alabaster was a "perilous beast" who died when Prince Nashald's forces attacked the main camp of Martin's Shadow in Bellona Littlebrush's application.

FIRST REFERENCED: Brave Tin Soldier

Arendell (OTTER) ? Recruit in Martin's Shadow

Arendell appeared only briefly in the story proper. She appears to have been more open-minded than Bellona Littlebrush or Sailpaw as she showed her appreciation to Deadtail for his unwitting assistance in dispatching one of the vermin sent to attack Martin's Shadow. She was subsequently murdered by Deadtail in the middle of an attempted flight from and battle at the Oasis.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Interlude: The Broad Stream

Ash (SQUIRREL) ? Woodlander

Ash was a brash young squirrelmaid who only appeared once in the story proper. She was reckless, fearless, and clueless. She captured Venril when he was trying to return to his contingent and the Fritterik in the caves, claiming that he was spying on the woodlanders of the Oasis. Her part in the story appears to have been for comic relief as she bickered with Venril and beat on him for good measure.

Ash was one of the last woodlanders to pull through the plague after the cure was obtained.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Family Values

B
Baez (HEDGEHOG) ? Husband of Suellyn and a Vik'hrr Chivkis to the Fritterik

Baez was captured by slavers and taken north from Southsward sometime before the main action of the story. He escaped and lost one eye in the process before running back south through the desert. He knew he was being followed, so he hid in a crevice that was actually an entry point to the underground world of the Fritterik. He went down and discovered the Fritterik, who named him a Vik'hrr Chivkis (half-blessed). He taught the Fritterik the common language spoken by aboveground woodlanders and vermin. He spoke in a manner peculiar to hedgehogs from Suellyn's region using 'thee', 'thou', and 'thy' in place of 'you' and 'your'. When he appeared in the story proper, Baez was shown as a compassionate, kind, and thoughtful individual who wanted nothing but to leave the caves and find his love, Suellyn, once more.

After discovering that Revel was in possession of Suellyn's headscarf, Baez disappeared for some time in the storyline. He reappeared again after the mushroom cure had been found (apparently having stayed behind in the Oasis to tend to the sick) and related to Revel that he had learned what had happened to Suellyn and his parents. He was under the mistaken impression that Revel had been left behind by marauding vermin, much as Suellyn had been.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Your Little Body's Slowly Breaking Down

Baron Proklyan (STOAT) ? Leader of a Vermin Horde

Baron Proklyan has only appeared in flashbacks in the story proper, but he also appeared in Venril's application. He was the leader of the horde that Venril was clerk and then captain of. He appears to have had a terrible temper and was impulsive, killing one of his captains in a fit of rage and then promoting his clerk, Venril, to captain. He enjoyed watching gladiatorial matches and bet on Rath the Whirlwind before the main action of Rath's application.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Whatcha Gonna Do, PL

Birch (SQUIRREL) ? Blacksmith and Woodlander Slave

Birch was a fierce squirrelmaid on a mission from an otter to get a mysterious shell to her brother. She was captured by the vermin when she mistook their ship for a common traveling vessel. She was just a little obsessed with reclaiming her hammer, but showed herself to be a competent fighter in its absence. She narrowly avoided death when the Venturers first entered the Fritterik caves when Revel chased and tried to eat her. Bellona Littlebrush seemed to rely on her as a strong ally, choosing to have her as backup when confronting Matukhana and when the Venturers descended to the caves once more in search of a cure to the sickness that came over the Oasis.

Birch regained her hammer during the final battle in the quarry pit cave and assisted in containing Adriak and Kelly while the battle raged. Later, she attacked Bellona Littlebrush when the madness of the plague overcame her. Eliza Lacrimosa knocked her out with her own hammer. Birch was the first NPC character to be saved by the Venturers after the cure was obtained.

It was indicated that Birch would head south (back home) following the events at the Oasis and that she would not suffer gravely from her near-death experiences.

A Note: Birch is a rather special NPC, in that she is actually a failed applicant for RV5 who has created her own side-story to follow (and critique) the main action of the RV5 tale. Birch's story can be found here.

FIRST APPEARANCE: With a Sure and Hopeful Smile

Biskiskis (WEASEL) ? Fritterik

Biskiskis appeared only once in the storyline proper when she guided Eliza Lacrimosa to a grotto where the marten was able to bathe.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Her Beauty in The Limelight Overthrew You...

Blacky (FOX) ? Scout in Prince Nashald's Horde

Blacky appeared only once and was promptly killed by Sailpaw. He appears to have been an oaf. He tried to use rocks to fish and wounded one of his fellow scouts.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Brave Tin Soldier

Blueguts (UNKNOWN) ? Former Captain of the Bluddrudder

Blueguts never appeared in the story proper. He was referenced by Kirby as the earliest captain the ferret had heard of for the Bluddrudder. Blueguts was murdered by Second Mate Filmeye who sliced his throat open.

FIRST REFERENCED: Until Then, She?ll Live in Wonder

Bruscus (STOAT) ? Leader of a Vermin Band

Bruscus appeared only once in the story proper, but was also mentioned in Revel's application. He was, apparently, a genial fellow who was happy enough to let Revel run away after learning of her cannibalistic tendencies. Revel was ?sweet on him?.

FIRST APPEARANCE: The Shaping of a Helpless Joy

Bulgam (WEASEL) ? Leader of a Vermin Horde

Bulgam appeared only once in the story proper, but also appeared in Deadtail's application. He was a fairly competent horde leader and tried to promote Deadtail to an officer.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Desertion

C
Chivkis Mik (MOUSE) ? Fritterik

Chivkis Mik appeared only once in the story proper. He thought Eliza Lacrimosa being a chafvik (fox ? stoat) was quite amusing and wanted to 'see' her. He tried to feel her and she rebuffed him violently, knocking him over, screaming at him, and running off.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Raise The Curtain For Act III

D
Da (HEDGEHOG) ? Suellyn's Father

Da appeared only once in the story proper in flashback form. Little is known about him except that he urged his daughter strongly to eat more.

FIRST APPEARANCE: How do you know if you've never tried?

Dugan (STOAT) ? Vermin in Matukhana's Crew

Dugan appeared only once in the story proper. He asked Kirby what was cooking when Eliza was forced to fetch Matukhana's breakfast. He displayed symptoms of the Oasis plague and mentioned that several other vermin were displaying similar symptoms.

FIRST APPEARANCE: A Simple Prop, To Occupy My Time...

F
Father (1) (HEDGEHOG) ? Suellyn's Father-in-Law

Father appeared only once in the story and was promptly killed and eaten by Revel. Before his demise, he conversed with Suellyn and showed himself to be a wise, caring individual who only had Suellyn's best interests at heart.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Woodlander's Code

Father (2) (PINE MARTEN) ? Eliza Lacrimosa's Father

Father has appeared only in flashback in the story proper. Little is known about him except that he is/was a farmer. He fought the sea raiders to protect his wife and daughter. Additionally, he knew enough about poisonous mushrooms to teach his daughter how to identify them herself.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Overture, Raise the Lights...

Fergly (STOAT) ? Captain in Baron Proklyan's Horde

Fergly appeared at the end of the story proper. He was a haggard stoat sent to Northern Mossflower to fight for Prince Nashald per the agreement between Nashald and Proklyan. Venril was supposed to be his relief from the fighting. Upon learning of the crash of Venril's vessel, Fergly rapidly packed up his supplies and the remainder of his soldiers and employed a merchant vessel to ferry them to Southsward. He appears to have been sick of fighting and eager to carry out his orders to return home.

Fergly also appears to have had something of a temper as he flew into a rage when he caught sight of one of Venril's remaining soldiers on the seashore while being ferried south. He went so far as to stop the merchant vessel and send out longboats to admonish Venril and his soldiers. The stoat was much sobered after hearing Kirby's tale of the events of the main storyline.

He hammered out a deal with Kirby to bring everybeast south on the merchant ship. When he encountered Revel, she noticed that he smelled familiar... this indicates that Captain Fergly was likely Venril's brother or half-brother.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Until Then, She?ll Live in Wonder

Filarski (RAT) ? Vermin in Matukhana's Crew

Filarski never appeared in the story proper. He was a searat who disappeared during the early stages of the hunt for the mushrooms after the final battle.

FIRST REFERENCED: The End, Part III: Ashes, Ashes We All Fall Down

Filmeye (UNKNOWN) ? Former Captain of the Bluddrudder (Formerly: Second Mate of the Bluddrudder)

Filmeye never appeared in the story proper. He was referenced by Kirby as the earliest second mate the ferret had heard of for the Bluddrudder. Originally Second Mate to Captain Blueguts, Filmeye murdered his captain and took over. He was subsequently murdered Second Mate Plommel. They never found Filmeye's head but Kirby said that they did find his body with his ears stuffed down his throat.

FIRST REFERENCED: Until Then, She?ll Live in Wonder

Fitch (SQUIRREL) ? Gatekeeper at Redwall Abbey and Brother of Birch

Fitch appeared only briefly in the story proper, although he was referenced in Birch?s RV5 Fanfiction thread. He was a sailor who was trapped at Redwall for the season after chasing a girl off his ship. He appears to have taken up the task of gatekeeper to while away his time on land. He showed Bellona Littlebrush and Rhys Feathertail into the Abbey and helped them to get dried off.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Epilogue: A Musical Interlude with a Wayward Robin

Flikker (OTTER) ? Woodlander

Flikker appeared only briefly in the story proper. He assisted Ash in capturing Venril after the stoat had made a neutrality pact with Bellona Littlebrush and Sagaru. Flikker died of the Fritterik plague the second day after the mushroom cure was found.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Family Values

Freyr (DORMOUSE) ? Bellona Littlebrush's Husband

Freyr has appeared only in flashback in the story proper. He wed Bellona Littlebrush against Sailpaw's wishes and seems to have had an ongoing animosity with the squirrel throughout his marriage. He was a sculptor and painter by trade and, according to Bellona, at least, was one of the best in the village where they lived. Little is known about Freyr's personality, but from the few scenes he appears in, he was loving, silly, and just a little insecure about Sailpaw's opinion of him. He was killed by a local vermin tribe after Martin's Shadow made a pact with them to leave the settlement alone.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Ride Across the River

G
Garnel (RAT) ? Officer of Bulgum's Horde

Garnel appeared only once in the story proper, but also appeared in Deadtail's application. He was the unofficial leader of a group of rats in Bulgum's Horde. He was once friends with Moffa, but came to resent him after Moffa was promoted to captain over him. Garnel was largely responsible for the near-defeat of Bulgum's horde at the paws of a shrew band. He foolishly drew ranks from one of the horde flanks and allowed the shrews to decimate the forces. Garnel was eventually killed in this battle.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Desertion

Gideon "Giddy" Kildare (MOUNTAIN HARE) ? Recruit in Martin's Shadow

Giddy spoke with a Highlander accent and was quite young (15 seasons) and inexperienced. He followed his brother to Martin's Shadow and watched him die almost as soon as joining. Giddy appears to have looked on Sailpaw as a hero of sorts and was particularly devastated by his death, going so far as to break down crying when he had been dry-eyed at the death of his own brother. He was 'giddy', impulsive and "as green as the new berries on a juniper bush", but he had a decent ability to fight as he survived for so long. Giddy was murdered by Matukhana in retribution for Bellona Littlebrush slicing the fox's cheek open.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Brave Tin Soldier

Greenfang (WEASEL) ? Vermin in Matukhana's Crew

Greenfang was an aging weasel who got press ganged into Matukhana's crew. He had an ongoing animosity with Birch due to a certain incident with a cactus that happened outside the storyline proper. He nicknamed Revel 'Crinktail' and appeared doing various menial jobs (e.g. scouting and running errands) throughout the story. Greenfang also served as one of the creatures who held Adriak while Bellona Littlebrush tortured him.

He developed a peculiar rapport with Revel and Birch that made him more sympathetic than the other male vermin during the mushroom hunt. He survived the plague and headed back south with the other vermin in the end.

A Note: Like Birch, Greenfang is a rather special NPC, in that he is actually a failed applicant for RV5 who has created his own side-story to follow (and critique) the main action of the RV5 tale. Greenfang's story can be found here.

FIRST APPEARANCE: The Wheel of Fate is Turning

Grimeclaw (WEASEL) ? Vermin in Matukhana's Crew

Grimeclaw appeared only once and was promptly killed by Venril with the help of some Fritterik. He was one of the corsairs who were trapped in the Fritterik caves. Upon the exit from the tunnels, he was left guarding the Fritterik who had decided to explore the outside world while the corsairs and Venril's contingent battled the slaves and Sagaru's creatures. He would have killed Venril with his cutlass had it not been for the intervention of several Fritterik.

FIRST APPEARANCE: With My Freeze Ray I Will STOP the World

H
Hame (UNKNOWN) ? Abbess of Redwall

Abbess Hame never appeared in the story proper. She was the Abbess of Redwall, of whom Damask the Minstrel requested special accommodations for his nightly entertainment.

FIRST REFERENCED: Epilogue: A Musical Interlude with a Wayward Robin

Her (ROBIN) ? Damask's Old Flame

Her (or 'My Love') has appeared only in flashback in the story proper. She was Damask's lover some indeterminate seasons ago. She was greedy, selfish, possessive, and only used and abused Damask while he gave her all his love. One day, she simply flew away from the nest that she and Damask had shared, taking with her several valuable trinkets. Damask deluded himself into thinking she was only out for a flight and began stockpiling valuables to impress her upon her return.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Both Sides Now

Hope (HEDGEHOG) ? Suellyn and Baez's Daughter

Hope appeared only twice in the story proper. Hope was Suellyn's stillborn daughter. She greeted Suellyn in Dark Forest when Suellyn was murdered. By all accounts, she was a cute and happy little hedgehog in the afterlife.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Your Little Body's Slowly Breaking Down

J
Jonathan (FERRET) ? Resident of Apostol

Jonathan never appeared in the story proper. He was a ferret from Eliza Lacrimosa?s hometown of Apostol. The marten fancied him, but at the time he was referenced, it appeared as though he was not courting her.

FIRST REFERENCED: Everybody?s Screaming For The Encore

Jurin (MOUSE) ? Former Leader of the Oasis and Heir of Loamhedge

Jurin appeared only briefly in the story proper and was promptly killed by Matukhana in the hostile takeover of the Oasis. Sagaru appears to have been very fond of Jurin.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Where the Sun Never Dies

K
Keller "Kelly" (FOX) ? Slaver and Mistress of the Srechrrl

Kelly was a charismatic, beautiful vixen who had originally chased after Baez with her mate, Adriak, when the hedgehog escaped from her slaveline. The vixen became sick with the Oasis plague while trapped in the tunnels and would have likely died without Medjool's unintentional intervention. She was a vain, pompous individual. She appears to have been a sociopath, as well, able to discuss the murder, skinning, and gutting of an innocent creature in a most blithe manner.

Kelly was guarded during the final battle and made to watch while Adriak was tortured. Shortly after the pine marten was dragged to shore, the slavers had a falling out after Adriak made a careless comment about Kelly's kit. In the heat of the moment, Kelly betrayed Adriak and revealed information about the whereabouts of the mushrooms. In the end, however, she was sealed in the throne room to die with Adriak as 'punishment'.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Now I Feel Like I'm The Flower...

Kirby (FERRET) ? Cook of the Bluddrudder (Formerly: Second Mate and Captain of the Bluddrudder; Subsequently: Captain of the Vermin)

Kirby was a fat, peg-legged ferret with a penchant for hitting creatures who strayed into his kitchen with ladles. He took a particular interest in Nivard's well-being -- or lack-there-of -- when Nivard was acting captain.

After Matukhana ascended the cliffs with the mushroom search party, Kirby took over as de facto leader of the vermin. He forced Sagaru to let him assist when she searching the Oasis records for more information and she mustered the vermin for the assault on the Srechrrl stronghold. He proved himself competent in the final battle, using a clever strategy to whittle down the Srechrrl's superior numbers until the plague madness overtook one of his archers.

Kirby was one of the few vermin to survive mushroom hunt and subsequently led the group headed back south. During this journey, Kirby explained that he was a former captain of the Bluddrudder and that Nivard was one of his best mates.

Matukhana usurped Kirby's captaincy, cutting off the ferret's leg, but Nivard prevented the fox from taking Kirby's life. Thus, Kirby was demoted to cook, Nivard retained the position of First Mate, and no Second Mate was ever named.

In the final scenes, it was Kirby who explained and made a deal with one of Proklyan's captains to gain passage aboard a ship headed south.

FIRST APPEARANCE: With a Sure and Hopeful Smile

L
Laycee Sandsweep (UNKNOWN) ? Oasis Dweller

Laycee never appeared in the story proper, but was the recorder for the events of the first Oasis plague when it was happening. From her writing, she appears to have been close to Adeny.

FIRST REFERENCED: Secrets, Lies, and Death By Plague

Lehman (UNKNOWN) ? Southsward Aristocrat

Lehman never appeared in the story proper, but he was referenced in Eliza Lacrimosa's application indirectly, and in her post "Tremble and Fret Upon the Stage". It was at Lehman's party that Eliza suffered the injuries that led to her scarring.

FIRST REFERENCED: Tremble and Fret Upon the Stage

Little Rath (STOAT) ? Revel's Kit

Little Rath, like the rest of Revel's kits, was born in a tool shed shortly after Venril murdered Nivard. Revel chose his name.

Little Rath managed to survive the ordeal at the Oasis.

FIRST APPEARANCE:And the Sky May Look Blue

M
Matukhana (FOX) ? Captain of the Bluddrudder (Formerly: Second Mate of the Bluddrudder)

Matukhana was a fairly well-spoken corsair who occasionally worked for Baron Proklyan (e.g. conveying troops up and down the coast). He was not an overly-clever creature, but he was not stupid, either. He appears to have been superstitious, believing (or wanting to believe) Damask the Minstrel's prophecy of gold in the Fritterik caves. He was clearly greedy, wanting not only the prophesized gold, but a promised reward from Eliza Lacrimosa in return for her safe passage home to Southsward. He had little issue with backstabbing and lying, all but ignoring the truce between the slaves and vermin before they had even left the Fritterik caves, and sweet-talking Rath the Whirlwind into becoming Eliza Lacrimosa's body guard. He was also not bothered by violence, breaking the tip of Damask the Minstrel's wing to make him speak the truth about the prophesized gold. Bellona Littlebrush sliced open his face when she took him hostage, as revenge for wounding Damask the Minstrel. In retribution for this act, Matukhana had one of his crew shoot and kill Gideon "Giddy" Kildare with an arrow immediately following a ceasefire negotiated with Sagaru and Bellona Littlebrush. Additionally, he had a peculiar relationship with Eliza Lacrimosa: at times he appeared to be in charge of her and abusive toward her, but at other times, he pandered to her wishes in the hopes of getting a reward in the end. He was part of the search party who went to find a cure to the plague in the Oasis.

After being captured by Adriak and Kelly, Matukhana was thrown in a cave with Eliza Lacrimosa and threatened her until she gave him all the mushrooms in her possession. These turned out to have been poisonous. During the quarry pit battle, he cracks the marten's ribs and nearly strangles her, but the poison from the mushrooms forces him to stop and Bellona Littlebrush takes the opportunity to smash Matukhana's head in with a rock.

It was revealed in later posts that Matukhana obtained his position as captain after usurping Kirby and cutting off the ferret's leg. Nivard prevented Matukhana from murdering Kirby outright.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Where the Sun Never Dies

Medjool (MONITOR LIZARD) ? Desert Dweller

Medjool was a conniving, intimidating lizard who brought the corsairs to the Oasis, thinking he would get something out of it. He was originally a 'friend' of the Oasis dwellers and they took him in before he betrayed them and stole some food. He was kicked out of the Oasis following this incident, but the Oasis dwellers continued to leave him food. Realizing that the vermin were doing less for him than he'd hoped, Medjool returned to Sagaru to get back into her good graces, claiming to have been duped by the vermin and that he had acted as a spy for the ousted Oasis dwellers since the takeover.

During the second attempt by Sagaru to take over the Oasis, Medjool tried to kill Eliza Lacrimosa. Rath the Whirlwind prevented this and because of the confrontation, Medjool lost his tail. However, Rath the Whirlwind came out the worse for the exchange as the wounds Medjool inflicted led to his death.

The lizard was also aware of the cure for the plague that came over the Oasis after the woodlanders and vermin crew emerged from the Fritterik caves. He had met some slavers (presumably those who chased Baez when he escaped from his slave chain) who were very ill with something akin to the Oasis plague in the tunnels and led them in circles instead of out because they were mean to him. However, before leaving them, Medjool led them to a cavern with water and mushrooms so that they would not die of hunger or thirst. Seasons later, Medjool was wandering the same area and came across the slavers and Fritterik who had been transformed into Srechrrl. He showed himself to one of the slavers who spared his life and thanked him, saying that the lizard had saved his life. Apparently, some of the mushrooms growing in the caves that Medjool had led them to were the cure to the plague. Medjool acted as a guide for the group of beasts from the Oasis sent in search of the cure once more. However, when faced with a tense situation involving the Srechrrl, he fled from the search party in a most cowardly fashion.

He was eventually found out, though, and forced to explain the happenings in the caves. He was then made to lead the fighting forces that Sagaru and Kirby mustered to the quarry cave. He disappeared following this act and has not been seen or heard from again. He may have died in battle, but more likely, Medjool scarpered at the first signs of trouble.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Where the Sun Never Dies

Moffa (RAT) ? Captain of Bulgum's Horde

Moffa appeared only once in the story proper, but also appeared in Deadtail's application. He was promoted to captain after the death of another vermin captain in Deadtail's application. He led the group Moffa's Minions and appears to have been an idiotic fighter, charging headlong into battle and having to be rescued by his Minions, some of which inevitably died in the confrontation. He earned fame throughout the horde for his bravado and eventually the animosity of his once-comrade, Garnel, as well.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Desertion

Mother (1) (HEDGEHOG) ? Suellyn's Mother-in-Law

Mother appeared only once in the story proper, but also appeared in Suellyn's application. Her only appearance in the story proper was as a corpse, killed and stripped of her clothing by Revel. Before her demise, she conversed with Suellyn in her application and showed herself to be a wise, caring individual who only had Suellyn's best interests at heart.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Woodlander's Code

Mother (2) (PINE MARTEN) ? Eliza Lacrimosa's Mother

Mother has appeared only in flashback in the story proper. Little is known about her except that she is/was a farmer and sewed her own rough clothing. She hid with her daughter when the sea raiders came.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Overture, Raise the Lights...

Mripat (RAT) ? Fritterik

Mripat first befriended Venril during the feast for the surface-dwellers in the Fritterik caves. He wanted to see Venril's saber and introduced himself by trying to grab it. Venril eventually warmed up to the rat and learned quite a bit more of the Fritterik language from him. Venril saved Mripat's life when the Srechrrl attacked the Fritterik's homes and the rat, in turn, helped Venril to hide during the rest of the attack.

Mum (WILDCAT) ? Keane's Mother

Mum appeared only a few times in the story proper, but also appeared in Keane's application. She was addicted to the Balm that Keane sold (Keane himself having created her addiction) and cared only for her son so long as he supplied her with drugs. She first started using the Balm because of her husband, though it is unclear if he was abusive or simply obsessively controlling.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Almost Easy

NPC's (N ? Z)

N
Nivard (STOAT) ? First Mate of the Bluddrudder (Formerly: Doctor of the Bluddrudder; Subsequently: Acting Captain of the Vermin)

Nivard was a nasty specimen of vermindom. He was mean, vicious, abusive, paranoid, and cowardly. Revel took a liking to him because she could smell fear on him, and he took a shine to Revel, but only as a verbal and literal punching bag to use when he wanted to feel better about himself. He stole Birch's hammer, was powerfully built and wore a kilt made of woodlander hides stitched together. He seems to have had some kind of special relationship with Kirby and did not hold up well under the burden of command in Matukhana's absence. Once Matukhana returned from the caves, Nivard gave up his leadership quickly and went in search of Revel. When he found her, he abused, and then raped her before wandering off the find some grog. When he returned to Revel, he got in a fight and was subsequently murdered by Venril who was trying to protect Revel.

In later posts, it was revealed that Nivard was originally an astute doctor aboard the Bluddrudder before his promotion to First Mate. He was also one of Kirby's best mates and protected the ferret when Matukhana tried to kill him for the captaincy.

FIRST APPEARANCE: With a Sure and Hopeful Smile

Nona (OTTER) ? Woodlander Slave

Nona appeared only briefly in the story proper. She was first referenced in Bellona Littlebrush's post "Secrets, Lies, and Death By Plague" as one of the beasts who would accompany the search party in the Fritterik caves. She did not appear until the next post. She was a bold ottermaid who was not afraid to speak her mind when faced with the charismatic and demonic vermin slavers, Adriak and Kelly. She was murdered by Kelly 'off-screen' because of her 'rare' pelt and meat.

FIRST APPEARANCE: World 1-2: START!

O
Ole Kimpy (UNKNOWN) ? Vermin in Matukhana's Crew

Ole Kimply never appeared in the story proper, but was referenced by the searat who brought Medjool to Matukhana when they found him lurking about the vermin encampment in the Oasis palm stand. It was mentioned that he had been displaying symptoms of the Oasis plague, specifically: 'itchy teeth'.

FIRST REFERENCED: Applause! Applause! No, Wait, Wait...

P
Palmud (SQUIRREL) ? Oasis Dweller

Palmud was warrior squirrel who helped to advise Sagaru when Jurin was killed. He was covered in scars that were ugly, but only skin-deep. He acted as a scout when the Oasis dwellers were forced out of their homes and kept a particular eye on the caves after Matukhana and half the slaves went in. He helped Root to engineer the cave-in that trapped the surface dwellers in the Fritterik caves. He came to blows (verbally) with Root on whether or not to use the slaves that they freed from the vermin encampment as fighters. Palmud was in favor of the tactic to swell the Oasis dwellers' ranks.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Interlude: Sagaru

Parvati (FERRET) ? Resident of Apostol

Parvati has only appeared in flashback in the story proper. She was a socialite from Eliza Lacrimosa?s home town of Apostol who fancied a ferret named Jonathan. She was lured to the forests outside Apostol by Eliza Lacrimosa who warned her to stay away from Jonathan. Parvati sussed out that the marten was in love with Jonathan and threatened to tell everybeast in Apostol?s high society that Eliza Lacrimosa was jealous. The marten warned her not to and a fight ensued, ending in Parvati?s death. Eliza Lacrimosa shoved her off a cliff by accident while they scuffled at the edge.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Tremble and Fret Upon the Stage

Pickspar (UNKNOWN) ? Former Captain of the Bluddrudder (Formerly: Second Mate of the Bluddrudder)

Pickspar never appeared in the story proper. He was referenced by Kirby as the captain of the Bluddrudder before the ferret himself took over. Kirby murdered Pickspar by knocking him around the head and hanging him from the bowsprit.

FIRST REFERENCED: Until Then, She?ll Live in Wonder

Pinky (STOAT) ? Revel's Kit

Pinky, like the rest of Revel's kits, was born in a tool shed shortly after Venril murdered Nivard. Revel chose the name for this kit.

Pinky managed to survive the ordeal at the Oasis and was most notable for smelling like ?caterpillar doings?.

FIRST APPEARANCE:And the Sky May Look Blue

Plommel (UNKNOWN) ? Former Captain of the Bluddrudder (Formerly: Second Mate of the Bluddrudder)

Plommel never appeared in the story proper. He was referenced by Kirby as a second mate the ferret had heard of for the Bluddrudder. Originally Second Mate to Captain Filmeye, Plommel murdered his captain and took over. He was subsequently murdered by his second mate.

FIRST REFERENCED: Until Then, She?ll Live in Wonder

Prince Nashald (WILDCAT) ? Leader of a Vermin Horde

Prince Nashald never appeared in the story proper, but he was referenced quite a bit early in the story by Bellona Littlebrush. He was the vermin warlord against whom Martin's Shadow were fighting. He had some sort of treaty with Baron Proklyan and Venril was sent as the captain of a contingent to assist Prince Nashald in his takeover of Northeastern Mossflower.

At the time of Bellona Littlebrush?s epilogue, Prince Nashald had taken over much of northeastern Mossflower, wiped out three significant resistance groups (including Martin?s Shadow), and withdrawn his troops to wait out the winter season. He was a wildcat of ?warmer climes?.

FIRST REFERENCED: Brave Tin Soldier

Q
Quentin Quincey Quinton (HARE) ? Woodlander

Quentin was a warrior hare who informed Bellona Littlebrush and every other beast on the ledge that Sagaru was attacking when the battle broke out in the quarry pit. He acted as a guard to Adriak and Kelly, and later assisted in holding Adriak while Bellona Littlebrush tortured him. Quentin was a good-hearted creature, but under the threat of impending doom, he made the shameful observation that Kelly had said she had a kit. He implied that hurting the kit could force Adriak or Kelly to reveal something.

Quentin managed to survive the plague and headed south with the vermin led by Captain Kirby. He tried to engage Eliza Lacrimosa in conversation during their short voyage to Crittenden. From their chat, Quentin appeared to be a very typical hare, enjoying talking and acting all around jovial in the face of the marten?s sullenness. He nicknamed Eliza Lacrimosa ?Button Mum? when she refused to give him her name.

FIRST APPEARANCE: The End, Part II: We've Got Everybody Singing

R
Randall "Randy" (FOX) ? Keller's Kit

Randy, also called 'Melt-face' by Revel, appeared only briefly in the story proper. The first time, he attacked Revel trying to get at Zubble, but Zhipzi warded him off by shoving a torch in his face. This left Randy in extreme pain and permanently scarred. His second appearance was on Kelly's lap when he watched part of the quarry pit free-for-all battle. He disappeared sometime between Kelly and Adriak's capture and the beginning of the final battle. He was not found in the aftermath which indicates that he was most likely killed during the battle.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Now I Feel Like I'm The Flower

Rhodor (UNKNOWN) ? Denizen of Southsward

Rhodor never appeared in the story proper, but he was referenced by Venril. He appears to have been a bully from Venril's youth who picked on the stoat with the help of a pair of weasel twins.

FIRST REFERENCED: With My Freeze Ray I Will STOP the World

Rhys Feathertail (DORMOUSE) ? Resident of Western Mossflower

Rhys appeared only briefly in the story at the end in Bellona Littlebrush?s epilogue. He guided the warrior to Redwall after a great blizzard had forced her to take cover with his family. He was the oldest of the Feathertail sons and ?pleasantly plump?. He appears to have had a good sense of humor and jovial disposition, bantering with Bellona Littlebrush and precipitating a snowball fight with her.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Epilogue: A Musical Interlude with a Wayward Robin

Rigstern (MOLE) ? Oasis Dweller

Rigstern has appeared only in flashback in the story proper. He was friend to Adeny and Ritchin and was one of the first Oasis dwellers to discover the Fritterik who escaped many seasons before the action of the main storyline. Upon request, he drove the freed Fritterik out into the desert to prevent them from spreading the plague further in the Oasis. Presumably, Rigstern is also responsible for closing the passage into the Fritterik caves from the Picture Mountain. This obstruction was later cleared by Deadtail, Rath the Whirlwind, Matukhana, and Damask the Minstrel when they were searching through the caves for Damask the Minstrel's prophesized gold.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Interlude: Rugger

Ritchin (MOUSE) ? Former Leader of the Oasis and Heir of Loamhedge

Ritchin has appeared only in flashback in the story proper. He was the husband of Adeny and was one of the first Oasis dwellers to discover the Fritterik who escaped many seasons before the action of the main storyline. He was a compassionate mouse who took the freed Fritterik into the Oasis when they did not show any signs of being violent. When the first plague came to the Oasis because of the freed Fritterik, he contracted it and was killed by Adeny to keep him from attacking their son.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Interlude: Rugger

Riversong (UNKNOWN) ? Recruit in Martin's Shadow

Riversong never appeared in the story proper. However, this character was killed when Martin's Shadow went over a waterfall in the middle of the night, landing in the Oasis.

FIRST REFERENCED: Ride Across the River

Root (MOLE) ? Oasis Dweller

Root was Sagaru's longtime friend and adviser. He appears to have been more militarily inclined than many moles, though he still did not want violence. Even so, Root helped Palmud to engineer the cave-in that trapped the surface dwellers in the Fritterik caves. Later, he came to blows (verbally) with Palmud on whether or not the Oasis dwellers should use the slaves that they freed from the vermin encampment as fighters. Root thought that doing so would be wrong because they were just children. However, he eventually gave in when pressed by Sagaru.

Root died in the final battle after suffering the effects of the Fritterik plague. Before dying, though, he saved Sagaru and fought by her side.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Where the Sun Never Dies

Rugger (MOLE) ? Oasis Dweller

Rugger was a bit of a clumsy mole who caught Venril's notice when he tripped and yelled during the slaves' escape from the Oasis into the Fritterik caves. Later, Rugger proved himself a wealth of knowledge about the Oasis. He guided the slaves to the Picture Mountain, and told the story of the first plague that came over the Oasis when a few Fritterik escaped. He was one of the beasts picked to accompany the group searching for the cure to the plague in the caves.

FIRST APPEARANCE: A Matter of Trust

S
Sagaru (MOUSE) ? Leader of the Oasis and Heir of Loamhedge

Sagaru was an older, one-eyed mouse who lost her other eyed to Matukhana and was named leader after Jurin (the original leader of the Oasis) fell to the corsair's blade. She appears to have been compassionate, responsible, strong-willed, closed-lipped about certain details regarding the Oasis' history, and dubious about command. She butted heads with Bellona Littlebrush on more than one occasion because of several of the above-mentioned character traits. She was best friends with Root and seems to have been a competent commander who was able to successfully retake the Oasis on her second attempt.

After sending the search party after the mushroom cure, Sagaru was forced to accept Kirby's assistance in uncovering more information about the mushrooms and plague in the Oasis records. She reluctantly joined with him again when she had to raise an army to attack the Srechrrl stronghold.

In the final battle and aftermath, Sagaru showed herself as a merciless creature, ruthlessly hunting down the last of the Srechrrl and overseeing the torture of Adriak. She was one of the few survivors from the mushroom hunt and had begun to go prematurely white by the end of the story. Her main goal in the final scenes was to convince as many woodlanders as possible to stay and help rebuild the Oasis.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Where the Sun Never Dies

Sailpaw (SQUIRREL) ? Captain of Martin's Shadow

Sailpaw spoke with a Highlander accent and was very close to Bellona Littlebrush. He was impulsive, loud, and passionate, and generally wielded a broadsword. His battle cry appears to have been: "Tulach Aaarrrrd!" He seemed to have had a major issue with Damask the Minstrel, but this animosity was never fully explained. He was killed in an attack by the Srechrrl after succumbing to a mysterious disease and attacking Bellona Littlebrush and Damask the Minstrel.

FIRST APPEARANCE: And For His Encore...

Scringenose (UNKNOWN) ? Vermin in Prince Nashald's Horde

Scringenose never appeared in the story proper. He was one of the vermin thugs who assaulted Damask the Minstrel in his first post. Scringenose contended that birds could not be 'indecent'.

FIRST REFERENCED: And For His Encore...

Silvertail (SQUIRREL) ? Recruit in Martin's Shadow

Silvertail appeared only briefly in the story proper. She was apparently one of the scouts for Martin's Shadow along with Giddy after escaping from the massacre at the main camp. She was killed when Martin's Shadow went over a waterfall in the middle of the night, landing in the Oasis.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Ride Across the River

Skinny Ryun (UNKNOWN) ? Vermin in Matukhana's Crew

Skinny was a misogynistic corsair who (along with a greasy searat) brought Medjool to Matukhana. He displayed symptoms of the Oasis plague, vomiting and coughing while Matukhana interrogated Medjool. It was insinuated by certain observations made by Eliza Lacrimosa that Skinny was, in fact, a very fat vermin.

Skinny was also one of the survivors after the final battle and party of the search party for the mushrooms with the Venturers. At the second-to-last delta, he took Greenfang and Virgill down one tunnel, stating that they didn't need any 'prissy liddle ladies 'round ter slow things down.' An ironic statement considering three of the females he directed it at were a warrior, a fanatical blacksmith, and feral murderess.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Applause! Applause! No, Wait, Wait...

Skreeg (UNKNOWN) ? Vermin in Prince Nashald's Horde

Skreeg never appeared in the story proper. He was referenced in Damask the Minstrel's first post as the one who discovered that the robin was a spy.

FIRST REFERENCED: And For His Encore...

Sorefoot (RAT) ? Vermin in Bruscus' Band

Sorefoot appeared only once in the story proper, but also appeared in Revel's application. He seems to have had it in for Revel, wanting to chase after her when she ran away from Bruscus' Band. He first discovered Revel's cannibalistic tendencies and threatened her, causing her to run away. He also made the ominous observation about Revel: "She ain't no maid."

FIRST APPEARANCE: The Shaping of a Helpless Joy

Sullen (STOAT) ? Revel's Kit

Sullen, like the rest of Revel's kits, was born in a tool shed shortly after Venril murdered Nivard. Revel chose her name.

Sullen managed to survive the ordeal at the Oasis and was most notable as the only female kit to survive.

FIRST APPEARANCE:And the Sky May Look Blue

Switchtail (WEASEL) ? Vermin in Baron Proklyan's Horde

Switchtail was an in-the-know fellow who congratulated Venril on his murder of Verand. He appears to have had more confidence in Venril than many other characters previous to his appearance in the story. The rat marked the point at which creatures who were part of his contingent began to willingly listen to and follow orders given by Venril.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Family Values

T
Tishka (OTTER) ? Fritterik

Tishka was one of the Fritterik assigned by Baez to watch over Revel and Venril and attend to their needs. He was one of the few woodlander Fritterik and accompanied the surface-dwellers outside when a passage was opened. He became hysterical when the fighting broke out at the entrance to the caves, though and ran out into the Oasis screaming, blinded by the sun. Revel helped to calm him down and led him to a hut where she proceeded to throw a tantrum and murder Tishka with a shovel before cooking and eating parts of him.

FIRST APPEARANCE: A Hidden Sun That Burns and Burns

Tracy (RABBIT) ? Recruit in Martin's Shadow

Tracy appeared only once in the story proper. He was a quiet rabbit who was killed when Martin's Shadow went over a waterfall in the middle of the night, landing in the Oasis.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Ride Across the River

Trpcic (STOAT) ? Fritterik

Trpcic was a Chivkis (blinded) stoat who Revel mistook as her mother because of a similar scent. Revel wandered into Trpcic's home when the surface-dwellers were being shown a place to rest by Baez and some other Fritterik. When Revel asked Trpcic if she was her mother, Baez explained that Trpcic could not be because the elder stoat had never borne any young. However, Trpcic was Yikker-chip's sister and, therefore Revel's aunt, which explains the familiar scent. Also, Baez explained that Trpcic was one of the older Fritterik who remembered the time when several younger Fritterik (including her sister) had escaped the tunnels through the same passage that the surface-dwellers entered through.

She took Zubble and 'buried' him in the cave where she and Revel's mother were born when she found Revel, distressed over the sudden death of her kit. Trpcic then joined Revel in the outside world, acting as a speaker for her when Revel stopped talking. She headed south with Revel when the vermin left the Oasis and made the astute observation that Captain Fergly smelled like Revel's mate.

FIRST APPEARANCE: A Hidden Sun That Burns and Burns

Tupelo (UNKNOWN) ? Recruit in Martin's Shadow

Tupelo never appeared in the story proper. However, this character was killed when Martin's Shadow went over a waterfall in the middle of the night, landing in the Oasis.

FIRST REFERENCED: Ride Across the River

V
Vakka-shin (WEASEL) ? Fritterik

Vakka-shin was one of the cooks for the feast that the surface dwellers ate when they first entered the caves of the Fritterik. He was husband to Zhipzi and wanted to look at Deadtail's blade in return for his wife acting as a translator to help train the Fritterik in combat. He accidentally stabbed and killed the Deadtail while playing with the rat's weapon. Later, he was one of the Fritterik who decided to explore the outside world with his wife and the surface-dwellers. Unfortunately, the exploration was short lived as he was killed by a sling-stone almost immediately after stepping out of the caves.

FIRST APPEARANCE: School of Rock

Verand (FERRET) ? Vermin in Baron Proklyan's Horde

Verand was an ambitious creature in Baron Proklyan's horde who initially assisted Venril in getting the platoon he captained to listen. He wanted the captaincy for himself, though, and while he honored Venril's position as leader for a time, when the Venturers were trapped in the Fritterik caves, Verand attacked and threatened Venril, demanding Venril recognize Verand as captain. He held an ongoing attraction for Eliza Lacrimosa and tried to woo her on several occasions, one of which led to his ultimate demise. He was murdered by Venril in the Fritterik caves after being tricked into an ambush by Eliza Lacrimosa.

Verand appeared a final time in the story as a hallucination. Eliza Lacrimosa imagined she saw him while she was delirious from a fever brought on by the Fritterik plague. Verand's image mocked Venril for being unable to kill him competently, and then went on to mock Eliza Lacrimosa about her motives and fears. The hallucinated version of Verand was able to anticipate everything the marten would say.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Whatcha Gonna Do, PL

Virgill (FERRET) ? Vermin in Matukhana's Crew

Virgill was a lecherous, light-furred, despicable ferret who was part of the search party for the mushrooms after the final battle. He was slapped by Eliza Lacrimosa when he told her to take off her dress and accompanied Skinny Ryun and Greenfang when the Venturers' search group split for the final time.

FIRST APPEARANCE: The End, Part III: Ashes, Ashes We All Fall Down

Y
Yikker-chip (STOAT) ? Fritterik

Yikker-chip (or just Yikker) has appeared only in flashback in the story proper. She was one of the Fritterik who managed to escape many seasons before the main action of the storyline. She was a large stoat and a biter, and was repeatedly reprimanded by Adeny for her behavior. Revel mentioned "Yikker-chip" when she and Birch explored the Fritterik caves before meeting with any Fritterik themselves in "With a Wonder and Wild Desire". At first, it was explained as a familiar, comforting scent from her kithood (meaning: 'the smell after rain'), but she said it again when embracing Trpcic, before calling the older stoat 'Mum' in "A Hidden Sun That Burns and Burns". This suggests a relation between Trpcic, Yikker-chip, and Revel; Yikker-chip was most probably Revel's mother.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Interlude: Rugger

Yikker-Vikvichip (STOAT) ? Revel's Kit

Yikker-Vikvichip, like the rest of Revel's kits, was born in a tool shed shortly after Venril murdered Nivard. Zhipzi chose her name.

Unfortunately, Yikker-Vikvichip died of the plague while Eliza Lacrimosa struggled to find the curative mushrooms.

FIRST APPEARANCE:And the Sky May Look Blue

Yirika Chivkis Chopufi (WILDCAT) ? Leader of the Fritterik

Chopufi was the first Fritterik to speak intelligibly to the woodland slaves and vermin crew at any length when they were first trapped in the Fritterik caves. He went from beast to beast feeling their faces to find the leader of the Venturer group, the Vik'hrr Chivkis (half-blessed). He eventually settled on Rath because of the ferret's missing eye. Chopufi had a feast prepared to honor the trapped surface creatures and ordered some of the Fritterik to begin clearing a way to the outside for them. He let Rath watch a ceremony where a Fritterik who had proved himself in battle was turned into a Chivkis (he had his eyes gouged out). He wanted to 'honor' Baez by making him a full Chivkis, but the hedgehog refused. Chopufi seemed to take this refusal quite well in the storyline as he did nothing to stop Baez leaving, nor a group of Fritterik who wanted to see the surface.

FIRST APPEARANCE: How Dare You Interrupt Me Grimalkin!

Z
Zhipzi (WEASEL) ? Fritterik

Zhipzi was a weaselmum who first appeared to ask Deadtail about his taste in Fritterik food. She explained that her husband, Vakka-shin, was one of the cooks for the feast. Later, she commented on Revel's tail and how it was broken. The phrase 'wikky-chivvers' seemed to have some sacrilegious or particularly vulgar meaning for Zhipzi. Although she initially ran away from Revel for the stoat's use of the aforementioned phrase, she was summoned by Baez to lead Revel and Venril to a special chamber that had been prepared for them. When Venril ran away, Zhipzi went in to talk to Revel more and eventually convinced Revel of her pregnancy. She was quicker to catch on to the surface-dweller language and acted as a translator for Deadtail when he was training the Fritterik to fight in return for Deadtail's agreement to let her husband use his sword. Zhipzi eventually became Revel's friend and 'guide' of sorts for her pregnancy. She tailored Revel a dress (horrendous though it looked) and saved her life later on when they encountered Srechrrl while trying to get back to the relative safety of the Fritterik home. Zhipzi also managed to save one of Revel's kits before Revel was taken hostage by the Srechrrl.

In the final battle, it was Zhipzi who rallied the Fritterik to attack the Srechrrl stronghold. She led the charge, crying out "For Rivvel!", under the mistaken impression that Revel was dead. After the battle was over, she and the other Fritterik tracked down and killed the last of the Srechrrl. Then, Zhipzi tricked the remaining 'warrior' Fritterik into leaving the caves and entering the Oasis. She decided to stay behind when the rest of the vermin (including Revel) left the Oasis, in order to raise her kits. However, she promised to come find Revel when her kits were older.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Cold and Lonely in the Deep Dark Night

Zubble (STOAT) ? Revel's Kit

Zubble, like the rest of Revel's kits, was born in a tool shed shortly after Venril murdered Nivard. Zhipzi chose his name and she saved him from a Srechrrl. Unfortunately, he was also taken from Revel when Zhipzi ran away. Zhipzi was trying to protect him because his mother was being attacked by Srechrrl.

Unfortunately, Zubble died after Zhipzi gave him to a ferret to look after. He was 'buried' in the cave where Yikker-chip and Trpcic were born.

Notes on Fritterik Grammar

  • Most mustelid language is meant to sound like hisses, churs, and clicks. However, 'hrr is a growl that has its own unique meaning. It is used after a word ending in a consonant to add emphasis.  It is pronounced 'ehr' with a rolled r.
  • To pluralize a word, add 'ik' to the end of the word. For words ending in 'i', simply add a 'k'. For words ending in vowel other than 'i', drop last vowel and add 'ik'.

Quadruple post! AAAAUGH! Right. I just wanted to thank the Venturers for their assistance in compiling the Fritterik - Common Dictionary, because Fates know I wouldn't be able to get all that on my own. XD The NPC list is complete (I think, so correct me if I'm wrong) up to and including Bellona's epilogue. Also, I'll be working on Locations and Factions as the next parts of the Guide.

EDIT: And for the curious, there are 84 named NPC's at the moment. You lot added 24 new characters in the course of... eight-odd posts. That's psychotic. o_O
*crickets chirruping*

Jarrtail

Wow. I commend both the RVers for creating this and Cricket for going through all the work to compile it. Well done, all.

Cairn Destop

The contestants might still add another few NPCs before this is done since there is the epilogues to release.

I'll say it again, do hope Tara will post this on the appropriate RSGC spot.  The work was well done.
In life, the only thing that ever adds up is a column of numbers.

Revel

Wooooooow! Wonderful, Cricket! This is really great. I'm sorry I made you add in so many more! Does name dropping really count as an NPC?

Eliza, we have to think up at least 7 new names each...  ;D

Jarrtail

Heh, can't wait. Maybe Eliza will be reintroduced to all sixteen members of her extended family in the epilogue. ("And this is Uncle Bloodclaw, you remember him, right? And there's dear old Aunt Deathfang! How've you been?...")

I'll get around to it, honest!

...Unless someone else wants to post it. I'm not the only one that can edit the wiki, after all. ;D

Statistics

Notes on Statistics

  • Word counts derived for posts are from Microsoft Word. Any discrepancies in word counts across programs should be minor, but it is worth noting.
  • Posts credited with more than one author are included in the Total Word Counts, but not under any contestant?s individual statistics.
  • The sub-post made for Keane was not included in his individual statistics, but was included in the Total Word Counts.
  • You may note that the percentage of Total w/ Teaser for each constant, when these values are combined, does not equal to 100%. This is due to no multi-author posts or sub-posts being counted under any contestant?s individual statistics.
  • Presently, statistics do not incorporate data for epilogues and will not until all three are posted.
