Revel

Suellyn! It's not too hard to set up. first you download Skype and when it asks you to log in you click the part that says you don't have an account yet. Once you make an account you can log into Skype and search around for the part that says to add a contact. Mine is "revelstoat" and Geo's is "rexplushpaw". Then you right click the name of whoever you added from the list and choose to start a chat. Geo or I could help you from there!
And I hope that you know that nature is so
This same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land, and forests and sand,
Makes the beautiful world that you'll see in the morning

To all reviewers, past and present, thank you! I don't always find something to say in reply to each reviewer but I do my best to read them and will take their advice as best I can. You are appreciated!

I believe that this episode shall require more abstract editing, due to my own...*coughforgettingtowriteanoutlinecough*

In any case, I shall require some piecing together to get it listenable. Any way it goes down, there shall be a musical sequence in it.

And before the next episode...I believe I need to do some more reading. *hic* :norf:

I might be doing a recording Wednesday evening, but I'll get back to you on that.

This isn't episode two, this is episode three, a brief ten minute review of my rambling impressions about the last week of this contest. Now, I must read something light and cheery...like The Shining or something.

Episode Three is still coming. Just need to do some brief editing of the thing. And I still hope to have at least one more recording session. Keep cool, peeps. Can't wait to see how this ends for real...'gates you peeps are depressing.

Thank you for commenting, Norf. As I said in a previous chat, you've quite the lovely voice, so not only do we get the enjoyment of having feedback, but also your fine, radio-talkshow timbre. If you do set up another of these things, I should very much like to join in again.:D
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Why thank ye. I'm glad to lend my odd voice of opinion to the throng. I don't feel it is enough in the face of you venturers' prose, which is much more deserving of proper criticism and praise than I am able to give ye.

That being said, here is Episode 4, another case of me just babbling my opinion on four out of the five last posts (I'm delaying a little to see the last two epilogues...if there are any). Ignore my statement that I'm reviewing only three posts (I was thinking three venturers). Feel free to yell at me if my opinions are misplaced (I /know/ some of you are listening) and keep cool. Congrats Eliza! I didn't see that you'd won until after I recorded.

'Revelation', Geo. You had a 'revelation' about Bell, not a 'revolution'.XD (*sings* You say you want a revolution? Well, y'know we all wanna change the world! */sings*) But! I'm glad you came to that revelation because it was what I was going for since the beginning. =D

Thanks for the lovely commentary and no apologies were necessary for your last thingy. Also, you might be waiting a bit for the other epilogues, just so's you know.

And since you said you wanted us to talk back at you... I don't think Liza felt any 'obligation' to help Bell and Revel. She felt it was necessary. Liza's only concern throughout the contest has been getting back home. All of her alliances and actions have been geared toward this goal. She thought Venril could shepherd her safely home, so she teamed up with him. Exploring other avenues once she saw Venny as 'mad', she signed up for Matakuhana's team. When that looked like it was going to get her killed, she sided with Bell's team. And when it came to getting the mushrooms...she knew she wouldn't be able to get home on her own. Logical option: save everyone so they would then be indebted to her and get her home. I'm not sure there was anything really honorable about her actions. They were performed out of desperation.

Also, Bell doesn't really respect Eliza. She can't respect Eliza because she knows the marten's actions weren't pure. She respects the fact that Eliza took action, but not Eliza herself.

But on the mushrooms note: Eliza winning this contest was the best thing that could've happened for everyone's survival. If Revel had won and gotten the mushrooms, she probably would've saved herself and kits and wandered off. If I'd won and Bell had gotten the mushrooms, Revel would not have survived. Bell would have let her die and only saved Eliza so that she could have help carrying out the mushrooms.

And one last thing: I hope you enjoy Bell's epilogue as it's more of Bell just being Bell rather than a warrior. It was a refreshing thing to write after all the doom and gloom. I hadn't really liked Bell as a character until after I started writing her epilogue. Then, I realized that when she's not surrounded by vermin and battle and death, she can be a really decent, funny chappess. Cheers, mate! Thanks for reading!

Grah! Curse me for not having the time to listen to this sooner! Expect comments on the morrow!

Oh, and, I echo what Bell said. We had tossed around the idea of whoever won getting to go get the mushrooms as kind of a special winner privilege, but it wasn't until after the results came in that I actually realized that (sadly) Eliza was the only one who would actually give them the shrooms. Even then, though, I left her reasoning open to interpretation, since it would have been awfully easy for Eliza to just let Revel die, since Eliza hated her so much. Whether she had an inadvertant slip into 'nice' for a moment, or whether she couldn't bring herself to kill the kits along with Revel, or whether her motivations were completely selfish, I leave up to you as the reader to decide.

(I know. It's not a satisfying answer. Ambiguity drives me up the wall, too, but I kind of wanted the people that wanted Eliza to be nice to see her as nice, and the people that wanted to see her as selfish to see her as selfish, so that it would be satisfying for both factions.)
She walks in beauty, like the night
of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
meet in her aspect and her eyes...

~Lord Byron

Totally still working on the RV5 epilogue, I swear...
