Applications??

For my own part, I certainly have some awful apps in my past -- although, the first app that I ever wrote was the one for Nallmian that got into Midnight Mossflower, albeit by a slim margin. My worst app was actually submitted sometime later -- don't remember which contest. Basically, some stoat who tries to get his younger brother to kill a squirrel thief because he (the older brother) is going to be going away for a while, and wants to make sure that his younger brother is "tough enough." Not a horrible concept, but horrible execution on my part.

I actually really like the sound of that concept, Nallmian. It reminds me of real life gangs who force new members to kill somebody in order to prove their worth, which is something that's always disgusted/fascinated me. But yes, it does sound very hard to pull off. Sometimes there are ideas which just require more space to write, no matter how skilled you are. BTW, are you judging this contest too? Couldn't tell from your comments.



BTW, have the co-ordinators decided how the audience voting will work, if we're voting in three from each category? For example, will we vote for our top three choices from each category, or just one?

That's reassuring! I was afraid these things had lost some steam. I'm working two jobs and we just lost a guy at my primary. I hope I can pull things together. I've always loved these things, and another chance to write with a group of lovely writers is just what I need to get out of my stagnant funk.

I have a character I really like, but I can't think of the right scene to write it in. Really frustrating! I also have a three hour exam in Restoration Literature next week that I quite desperately need to study for, but I suppose app writing is a worthwhile procrastination method. :P So there might be something on the night of the 31st from me.

But I'm really glad to hear the apps so far are good. Can't wait to see what people have come up with.

Hey there! Welcome to the forums! This question is answered in Balmafula's Contest Rules thread.

Once the app is finished, PM me with the character's name in the subject. Be sure to include in the PM:
Character's name
Character's species
Character's gender
Character's age
The category you're applying to

So you'll need to send your application(s) to her via Personal Message here on the forums. Hope that helps! :)
