I love how the characters frame each other! Thank-you, Tara, for drawing us!

Gorgeous! The colors on Nyika and Zekva's faces are really stunning.

Vizon

Those are great! Yeah it definitely takes more time to draw stuff by hand and scan it in than do the same on the computer. Digital's nice in that all the colors in the spectrum are at your fingertips and you can zoom in to such tedious detail that you'd need a magnifying glass to do the same on paper. These bigger paintings definitely take longer than the avatars. I am thinking now that maybe I'll end up just doing the death scenes. Unless I have time to do some other inspiring scene. We'll see. Nice to see more art! Sorry I've been more lurking than active of late.

Went ahead and finished it off finally!

TNT

Yey! Glad you guys like 'em. I need to draw more often. (I don't even have a pencil sharpener anymore, apparently! Whoops.)

And that's great, Vizon! Like I said before, you really captured the scene beautifully. :)

Here's Poko's dramatic scene.

Amazing! Just amazing!

Goragula

Vizon, we are so lucky to have you illustrating this contest for us. You are an absolute gem! I love the reflection in Nyika's eyes and the hedgehog costume you did for Poko. Honestly, what is your secret? I couldn't be that productive if I overdosed on Adderall.

QuoteYey! Thanks. He's channeling his inner Mr. Burns. ^^

HAHA. Thanks for the drawin' Tara! It's ... Excellent.
:goragula: What does a toad with a BA in Literature say?

... Do you want flies with that?

Poko

Oh sweet! That is...exactly how I imagined it. Takes a moment to figure out the perspective is from above, but wow - I couldn't have asked for a more direct translation of what was in my mind to what you've painted. Thank you so much! Nyika's also looks spot-on to me (except maybe the cliff is a lot further down? But I guess this could be another part of her story and not necessarily the part right before the scream. Or maybe one ghost is closer than all the ones at the very bottom). Glad you decided not just to do our deaths!  :mallet:

Vizon

Thanks guys! :)

Goragula - my secret is cocaine, actually.

Just kidding. I just hate to stop something once I've started, and simultaneously I get caught up in the details. As a result it is very difficult for me to keep things loose, so practicing gesture drawings is always beneficial to me (haven't done any in a long time though). I think it also helps that I am an artist by trade.

Poko, I did actually intend for Nyika's to be her looking over the final cliff, but in order to see a proper reflection in her eyes (and the creepy skeleton paw), I had to draw the ghost closer. Anyway I guess ghosts can float, can't they? Oh well. I just thought it looked better this way.
I'll probably still do the deaths. Not sure how many I will do besides that though. I see now there are a lot of posts and I have to catch up. The last several I've reviewed are not quite as dramatic/action-packed. Zevka's hare scene is pretty dramatic, but also really extra gory from the sound of it. Maybe I can find a way around that, but we'll see. I'll review what all is contained in the other posts before deciding what is most inspiring, me thinks.

Aleisou

Awwww, great work as usual Vizon! Although if you do the death scenes ... I bet they'll be just as gory, if not more, than the hare! Unless everyone just freezes to death. Which would just be incredibly boring. I demand Tarantino-esque blood flows. (Not that I even want anyone to die. I honestly have no idea who I should vote for this time; usually it's fairly obvious who's going to go in the first couple of weeks, but I like all the characters this time. :()

Oh, and GUESS WHO GOT HER TABLET WORKING. AND TORRENTEDLEGALLY OBTAINED PHOTOSHOP!! Now I can do coloured portraits. Although this is the first 'painting' I've done in Photoshop so I'm still getting to grips with it, it's not as smooth as it could be.

Risk da Cuttah! In his hordebeast days. I don't know what he looks like apart from the fact that he's a champagne ferret, so I went out on a limb with the outfit, but I hope you still like it. :) I tried out a different style, too. I wanted it to be a bit more Redwallish and sketchy looking. Hopefully I'll get round to doing the rest, once I can figure out a decent pose for everyone. I hate having my characters just stand there in pictures.

Chokk Wulgar

You guys are all SO talented! Risk looks so great :D

Zevka

This is one of my favorite things about contests: how many ridiculously talented people I get to see. All of this artwork is absolutely fantastic! I especially love Nyika's. I would really love to have a similar picture for Zevka.

Keep this up. You people are flippin' amazing.

Nyika

Oh my goodness, this is so brilliant! I think you captured the scene perfectly! I looove her dilated eyes, haha, so much that I even gave it a line in my last post.

Yep, that's why Nyika screamed. Ghooosts!!!

I really love the sobriety in Poko's pic. Solemn and sober. So tragic! And Aleisou, Risk looks fantastic! I can't wait to see more of your art!

Thank you guys so much!! =^.^=
