Oh damn. Wish I had time for a roleplay of this EPIC porportion but alas, two jobs kinda keep me busy.  I doubt I'd have had any time for the contest if my application had made it in. : /

Which was your application, Foxpen??

Frost

Hey Chokk, apologies on my part...should've specified who I'd be willing to write as! I'll throw Grainger into the mix, if you all would enjoy him!
Hello again.

TNT

There was a character I had in mind, in the days while I was wondering if I was getting too involved with the planning of this to actually apply, but I don't think I can use him now, as he's a little too similar to Alder. He was even going to be a mouse, too. But unlike Alder, he was a massive adulterous jerkwad, so I don't think he'd be much fun to write.

So I'm rethinking this!

Weeell, not one of the top contenders. My guy didn't make it that far! ^_^" I wrote him up on the plane ride home from my vacation, literally the day of the deadline, so he was rushed and I don't even think I had time to edit him at all. He was a shell-shocked vet who had since resigned/been released from his commission, become a merchant, and was working as the accountant and book keeper for the Yew Guards

Updated for you Frost :D

I think we should start this sometime over the weekend maybe?

So, as far as plot... we are going with something silly right? I can draw up a basic scheme unless anyone else wants to have a go at it?

Umm, I had an idea if you guys are interested?

What if everybeast in the audience rp arc was dead but their spirits didn't know it? It would let you guys wander around and try to interact with us but couldn't for some inexplicable reason. I think a few of us in the Contestant Planning board were thinking of referencing or finding some of the other app characters, so I don't know. Maybe it could be fun?

Hummm?

I think this sounded better last night when I pitched it to the other contestants, and I don't know if I have all my thoughts together projecting them from this mobile crystal ball. Maybe one of my other writers can better explain the idea?

Chokk Wulgar

Haha! That is a great idea! I really like it. That we we could "interact" with the contest RP in some ways. We could also let our characters get up to all kinds of shenanigans that way.

What do the rest of us think??

Rousseau

I'm going to have to sit this one out if that's the plot then. I don't mean any offense or anything, but I don't think I'm going to be able to write Alder if he's dead. The purpose of his character was to regret his mistakes and get over his grief of his dead wife, and then do everything in his power to survive the mountains and get home so that he could fulfill the promise he made to the abbot of returning and be a father to his son. So, if he's dead, and is thus unable to get back home to his son, I think it would end up being too depressing for me to write as I typically always write characters who have some major flaw or emotional quirk they have to move on from (Nemik trying to get over his anger issues to have a simple life, Cecil trying to overcome no one believing he could make it as a musician, and Rousseau trying to get over her own loneliness) and if Alder is unable to move on and fix his mistakes in the end, I just won't be able to write it. Sorry, if that didn't make much sense, or it sounds like I'm ranting, but I just don't know if I'll be able to get through it without choking up, especially with who he's based on. And you're still free to do it, but I'm just going to sit out if that's what you guys decide.

Chokk Wulgar

That makes sense. We don't need to have them be dead, it's just an idea. I wouldn't want you to feel bad about it. Let's think of some other ideas then :D No worries!

Frost

Well, what if we compromise...what if we all think we're dead, until it's proven that we're not? We wouldn't have to stretch out the fake "dead" thing for too long, but it could give us a start to the story and help motivate our characters to accomplish something(s) once they realize they've been given a second chance, so to speak. Thoughts?
Hello again.

Vizon

What if they're all just left behind in Yew? Then the RP won't directly mess with the journey. We'd have to come up with reasons for why each of our characters was left behind (or maybe they didn't want to go because it's suicide and they found a convenient way to be MIA when the role was called).

They could have been sick (ha ha....Ben...). Maybe everyone thinks they've caught what Ben has and they all have to be quarantined until they find out they're ok and it's just the flu or something...

Chokk Wulgar

I think just being in Yew would work out fine. There needs to be some sort of motive though just to give us a theme to write towards... perhaps what Frost suggested would work?

hmmmmmmm....

Or maybe we want to stay away from the "dead" thing all together?

I like the idea of quarantine of some kind. What do you guys think??

TNT

Hmm, I think it'd be cool to have some adventures in the mountains. Maybe some derp convinces us to all go anyway? I dunno!

Also, I've decided what I'll do! OH NO WAIT I HAVEN'T. I was going to resurrect an old survivor app, Thora Valetree, from Redwall Revolutions, buuuut I can't find her app. I think it's because I wrote it on my phone, on the last day, from some obscure email address I can't remember. Plus I'm not in contact with Vitora anymore, so I dunno if I'll ever find it. Alas. I loved Thora. Maybe I'll just have to recreate it from memory. Or choose from one of my many MM1 failed apps. :)

I have another idea! Actually, it's not so much an idea as ... um ... I don't quite know what to call it, actually.

After some planning, the contestants and Tara kind of reached an agreement that there would be two arcs to the story, one for the contestants and one for Pyra/Flax that Tara is writing. They are separate and disjointed, but they will cross paths every once in a while.

Would you guys be interested in a third separate, disjointed arc? I would say you can cross paths with the other arcs, and if we are mindful and pay enough attention, I don't see why we wouldn't do the same. That way, it's like we're writing three separate stories that all stem from the same disaster.

How does that sound?
