Someone bring me up to speed! Do I need to read everything to catch up with the story? Give me highlights, specific chapters I shouldn't miss, your favorite characters and why they should also be my favorite characters... I want the works.

Ye could jus' post yer general thoughts afterward. I don' think in-depth, post-specific reviews 'ud be practical if yer catchin' up on ever'thin', after all. It be a lot o' readin' but we be tryin' ta keep our posts mos'ly under 2,000 words, so ye know. Jus' a couple 'ave broken that limit.

If ye don' 'ave time ta read it though... I serpose we could try an' summarize. But then, thar'd be spoilers...an' ye'd lose the build-up ta certain moments...

Why would you not start at the beginning? You can't get the whole scope of the crew and events if you don't take a systematic approach, going post by post. You will have stolen a great deal of joy from both yourself and from us hardworking beasts by skipping around, and the rest of the cast can tell you how I feel about thieves!

But if you must... Chak just volunteered to scrunch up the story for you, right?

It would be nice to have a fresh perspective, regardless where you're starting. I'm new to this site, so I have not had the pleasure of making your acquaintance. I hope to hear from you again soon!

I just don't want to get lost, is all. I know I'm coming in late to the game. I wanted to dive into it so when new posts came up I could jump right on them rather than put them aside while I catch myself up.

Hmm, here's a serious question: Should I read the apps or is that not necessary? As in, do they tie into the story proper or are they more general writing samples that I can peruse at my leisure?

Some are more plot related than others I'd say. Tooley, Ciera, Gordon, Chak, and Plink come to mind. Though if you read all of them, that'd be fantastic as well :)

Some o' them be tyin' in. Tooley's be important ta unnerstand the beginnin'. Gordon's is prob'ly important ter 'is character arc. Vera's might be importan' fer 'er...backstory. Mayhaps Ciera's as at least one NPC be showin' up again from thar.

Agreed. A lot of the writers tie their apps to the main story.
