FREEEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM

Chak, Part two. This is gonna be GOOD!

"By the way, have you met my friend? He has something for you..." Ha! Take that, you slavers!

Uh oh. And suddenly, MOB! Chak's in trouble...

Aw! That's kind of sweet. "No! Bad slaves! Our Slave Master!"

"Uh...Can I have my cudgel back, now?"

Oh, hey, Reedox is up. Finally. And a little too gleeful at Torin's demise. Pay no attention to Chak's other post. I said nothing of the sort.

Well, that's an improvement! Not instant friends, but better than before. Now, the question is, how far is Chak willing to go for the slaves, and will it be clear to them?

Quote?Martin bless you!?... ... ... Chak wasn?t sure what to make of the ordeal. Hylan was a marten, but Chak hardly felt ?blessed? by him.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!! THAT WAS GREAT!

FINALLY! It took Hylan WAY too long to figure out Vera's missing, and something's happened to her.

Angry Pine Marten!!!!!! Watch that hatchet, mate!

Oh, hey, weapon! I'll take this, thank you very much.

QuoteIt was Vera.
NO DUH.

And we have a rescue! An almost death! A rescue! A possible death! (Hylan, are you dying in there?) And a rescue! I love the fact that Hylan only pauses for a second at the grisly sight of his tail. On a belt. *shudder* Then it's, "Never mind that! Vera's in trouble!" He cares more for her than he does his tail. Gives new meaning to "I'd give an arm for you!" Beautiful post, Chak!
I knew then. I knew I would never be like them. I would do everything in my power never to become them. I only feared that I would lose myself to that focus. Either way, I would no longer be me.

I Dreamed a Dream of Time Gone By

Vera! Finally you get rescued! And we start with..Flashback! Have I mentioned how much I like flashbacks?

Daw poor Vera. Poor thing. No wonder she just caved. Dead brother, then the torture. So scary. Uff. I can only imagine having a trauma like that.

She should just tell him. Get it over with. It's not going to get any easier to carry that guilt.

Is Vera the only one who remembers the dead ones? Though no one's talked about Vasily for a while.

Oops, sorry Chak. I forgot you did.

Whoops. Wrong name! I won't say it again, I promise! Sheesh, trauma to go around in this post. Oouh, huff! That's gonna need some therapy.

"We have a Hulk! Or, at least, a hulking otter."

Dang! Just... harsh. Though true. Gah, I hate when good friends have conflict! I hated it when I had to put my foot down, and I hate it when it comes up.

Is she finally growing a spine? Hoorah! You go, girl!

Nice post! It had a lot of my favorite tastes in it, flashback, lines drawn, friendship, and defining moments. I really enjoyed it!
I knew then. I knew I would never be like them. I would do everything in my power never to become them. I only feared that I would lose myself to that focus. Either way, I would no longer be me.

Post, post, post, post, post, post. Oh, hey, I have book prep to do while I'm waiting! *shrugs* post, post, post, post, post, post, post.
I knew then. I knew I would never be like them. I would do everything in my power never to become them. I only feared that I would lose myself to that focus. Either way, I would no longer be me.

Bio, or Otherwise?

YAY POSTS. See, Kingsdotr, you should be patient, and all will be well. Plink, you're first again!

Okie dokie, so she is now FULLY on Chak and Robert's side. That's good. 'Cause, if she were on Blade's...  Well, I just don't know what I would do!

Oh, hey, we're bringing the parrot back! Sweet! He was awesome, for a cannibalistic psychopath.

My, she was a bloodthirsty little thing, wasn't she? Does she get to finish her story later? I kinda like her mom.

Oh, cool! Her plan is basically like running a stampede through a camp to cause a distraction. A very feathery stampede that's insane. Yeah, that makes sense.

And suddenly... Vera. Hey, long time no see!

Alright, quite enjoyable for a first post! I especially love Plink's descriptions of our favorite maniac bird. Also, the flashbacks are a nice touch. Well done, Plink!

What Would I Do Today

Vera! Up next again! And right back into the middle of the action we left behind. Instant gratification?

Aaaaaand they're heading to Blade's room. I guess it should be alright, since he PROBABLY isn't there right now...

Oh, yeah, where is Atlas? Haven't seen him since Plink discovered her little escape route...

"Overgrown wood pigeon." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Nice! We get to see Plink from someone else's point of view! We get to see her struggles, and her conflict from Vera's perspective. This is one of my favorite writing tricks, using body language and dialogue to give a window into another character's head, without actually being in it.

Hylan! and Chak! Aaaaaaand, Vera needs a plan. And a way to help. Hopefully it comes to her soon.

Nice! Here's a handy parrot. Let's just toss him at the pirates! Have at ye!

Oh ho, burn! The parrot's got some bite! Taunts are flying fast and thick in this post. Who will snap first, I wonder? I'm rooting for the crazy bird.

Did she just forget Hylan was disguised? Who else would be trying to get her away from the danger?

"It's worse than that, he's dead, Jim.  OOOOOOOOOO!!!! FEAR THE FOX AND HER MIGHTY NECKLACE!!!!!!!!!! I love that it was for Hylan. So cute. In a gruesome way.

YES. SOMETHING IS COMING. That was the perfect way to end it! Sweet!

That was wonderful! I love this post! Pretty awesome, with a little bit of the "getting chased by big angry monster" followed by "Monster got some lip on him!" Plus, a little infighting is always fun. Great job!

Then Why the Blindfold?

Robert! Sweet, we get to figure out where they went! No coffee breaks, now.

"Let's adopt them (I mean her)!" She's got a place to belong! That's so nice. It's rare that people find a group that truly makes a place for them.

Blade! There he is. He's not on the boat yet?

Sword lessons from Robert! Yuss, you are no match for our navigator.

And yet, how quickly the tides do turn.

Yup, Blade's a smart cookie. Robert 1, Blade 2. He better hurry.

What a waste of a good sword. Temper, temper.

Nice, Robert! A very good post, if a little short. If someone had to run into the big baddie, I'm glad it was you. Good job!

Flesh and Foul Dealings

Chak! Sweet, dude, after your cameo in Vera's, I'm anxious to see how things are going.

Yes, Chak, keep your head. No sense in losing it this late in the game.

Early, I meant early!

Stab the kidney! Why does this strike me as so funny? I must be really tired. I even took a nap today, so why?!

"Writhing weasel." A little alliteration, eh? How Jacques of you.

And suddenly, distraction! Big green parrot will do that for you.

And here I thought it would be the badger. Still, intrepid hedgehog works just fine! With reinforcements!

Heh! Robert's all worried, and Chak is all like, "Feh, politics."

Oh, Dremlak's not dead. Right on! Glad to know Vera's not a killer. Yet.

Dude. Just, dude.

OOh, Chak, you've done it again! I love your post, and shudder at the same time! I tip my hat to you, sir! Well done!

Eat, Drink, For Tomorrow...

Plink, part 2! Yuss, I can't wait!

Oh, Plink. It's so sad to see her pick the more miserable choice.

Of course, Burnet has a job for her. I have a feeling she could find a use for about anybody.

Nice nickname. That's just... sad.

Plink! Sorry for the short review, but I just got really into your post, and couldn't look away. From trying to help the slaves to throwing her lot in with the pirates, you feel her struggle right up to the very end. I can very much see her coming to regret her decision, and indeed, she already does. You feel her pain, and the use of rumors and group psychology to affect her circumstances is a nice piece of work. Well done!

What Must Be Done

Chak, part 2! What does this post hold in store? I'm almost afraid to find out.

Ah, yes, right. The pile of dead bodies. The perfect place to open a post. Just in case we didn't think Blade was evil, here is a mass grave!

IT'S ALIVE!!!!! Oh, wait, wrong monster. Braaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnsssssssss.........

Rindclaw! Oh, that's sad. Sad weasel. At least Chak is able to get him out. Also, the descriptions? Once again, EWWWWWWWWW.

So...no flies escaped? If I were Chak, I'd go for a quick swim. You know, just to wash...stuff...off. Blech.

Oh, hey, there's the bath. Chak, I love your writing, working the environment into the story in a strong way. Making use of the circumstances to connect readers to the horror is genius.

One of the hardest choices to make, and one of the hardest things to write about, is death. I've thought about this myself, the fact that there are some people, some good people, who have to choose to be harder than others in order to make the world a safer place to live. Killing isn't the best choice on any day. If there's another way to go, that route should be taken. But, unfortunately, there are times when it is necessary.

Chak, a wonderful post once more. Short, yet with shocking impact, this really brought out Chak's growth to me, as well as his conclusions about his own life. Thank you!

Dash of Cream, and Plenty of Sugar

Hooray, another Vera! This week's been longer than I thought it would be, given how few of you there are. You guys must have really struggled to get these out! Thanks to all of you!

Ah, yes, Plink. Vera really cares about younguns, doesn't she? We saw it earlier with both Scully and Plink. Ah, if only young people wouldn't run after things that will destroy them. Must be a rebellion thing. Sorry, personal button pushed. I'll move on.

Ah, yes, the recipe. We only need one thing to make this work! Oh, hey, I happen to be good at memorizing recipes, and I just happened to see one. Will this work? Why, it's the one we need? What a coincidence! I love it!

Also, Vera gets to play with fire. Suddenly, the avatar is more appropriate than ever.

And Vera's like, "Finally! I actually get to cook something! Took you guys long enough!"

Oh, that's so cute! After Chak's last post, we get a sweet, little break from the horror and mayhem, and get treated to a little happy scene. Just what I needed this morning. Thank you, Vera! That was awesome!

Healing Hands (I Mean Paws)

Crue... You're the last one. I think I know what this means. I will miss our daring, impulsive, scheming healer.

She should give someone a quick run-down of healing tips, so they have someone who halfway knows what they're doing.

As she descended the gangplank, she heard his voice call out, ?Listen up, Crue!?

QuoteShe turned and looked up, wondering what else her friend wanted to tell her, but he was not in her line of sight. He continued talking to those on the ship, and she turned away before murmuring, ?Oh, ?crew?!?
Finally! Someone worked in that pun! Hee hee hee, that was perfect!!!!

Aw, that's sweet. A nice farewell to Crue. Not a death, exactly, but a fair ending. Beautifully done, dear! Thank you.

I'm glad I'm not the only one considering this. The whole fox captain execution made me spend a good many hours wondering if I'm a Chak or a Rob in this situation. On one paw execution perpetuates the evil; you don't solve bad with bad. On the other paw stopping him keeps the fox from spinning on in his genocidal ways. Tis a head scratcher I'm glad the cast let us experience through their writing.

Kingsdotr

*gasp* He said my screen name! Thanks for the entertaining video, guys. Hooray, to Chak! Well done. I can't wait to read the epilogues. No rush, though. NaNoWriMo does start in, lemme see... TWO HOURS?!!!  AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!

Well done, all!
