Special thanks to Tooley for the wonderful banner of Saveaux, and to Matra for his brief help with the rules.

The Redwall Survivor community proudly presents The Writing Room. Welcome ROC members new and old. Here you may post all manner of creative writing from fan-fiction to poetry to short stories, whether they're Redwall related or not. This is also the place for critiquing posted drafts, project discussion, writing exercises, word games, and the classic "Hey, read what I wrote and bask in its greatness!" Please consider the following rules before diving in and posting The Next Great Mossflowerian Novel.

Writing Room Rules

?   The User Library is specifically where you post your work. Anything posted in the wrong spot will be moved here. When you post, please use the subject format -"TITLE - By [your username]" This is so that the board doesn't become too cluttered and everything can remain as well organized as possible.

?   We prefer you post drafts in the body of the reply box, but outside gallery links are acceptable so long as they're clean and free to view. A short description at the top containing genre and purpose is helpful for context, but this is not required.

?   By default - as in "when no preference is defined" - all drafts are subject to constructive and objective criticism from community members. We will not tolerate abuse or slander of any kind. If the author specifies they do not want a critique or review then you must respect their wishes, but this is not carte blanche for authors dumping their story trunks. All critiques should follow in the draft's thread. Alternatively, if the writer provides a link to a story they've written on something like Fanfiction.net, then it may be even kinder to leave a review there, rather than on the forum. From experience, stories with more reviews often receive more readers. However, this is not required and just merely a suggestion.

?   Even though this site is part of the Redwall Online Community, you may post works related to other fandoms or genres. This is a place for improving our writing as a whole, after all, not just Redwall related.

?   That being said I will not tolerate any stories with graphic sexuality or straight-up smut. As Redwall is a children's book series, this site should also remain family friendly for any younger visitors and skeptical parents. Absolutely NO sexual content should be posted or linked.

?   One thread per project, please. You should indicate on-going projects at the thread's creation, but we do not allow gallery style threads or indefinite roleplays. Example of what we do not want: "Jacob's Thread - here I'll post all my stuff when I feel like putting it up."

?   The Writer's Resources section is for writing-related discussions, not creative work. This can include: project research questions, helpful resource links, book/series/story insights, and more. Pretty much post anything writing related here when the topic isn't your actual draft or a User Library critique.

?   Do not post writing that is not your own. However, you may link to works you admire in the Writer's Resources board if you believe they would be useful to study or be inspired by. If you do, you must provide a source (i.e. who made it)

?   During active contests we encourage placement of contest fanfics or role-plays in the contest's respective Contest Discussion section. This is not a hard rule, but all submissions must follow the general Writing Room Rules whether you place contest-specific works in The Writing Room or not.

?   Be brave and have fun. We're all writers here; we all know the hardships and triumphs of bending these words into shape. We also understand how exposing and tough posting original work is, so do so knowing we read with helpfulness and respect at the front of our minds.
