Dibbuns Against Bedtime

Hey everyone! I'm an admin over at Dibbuns Against Bedtime, DAB for short. We're a roleplay and discussion forum based around the world of Redwall. Our club was formed in 1999 and actually inspired the Dibbuns Against Bedtime club that appears in the books. We've changed forum hosts a few times, but we're still standing and definitely still active.

While the basic premise is roleplaying as dibbuns, we go beyond that very often. Quests are large part of DAB, and we're currently planning a complex quest called The Redwall Relief Column which will use our adult characters. Roleplaying itself also takes many different forms. We have the standard prose style writing and roleplay, which is what most of you are probably familiar with. But we also offer a variety of script RPs, lightweight casual roleplays that appeal more to younger members or those who don't have as much time. We also have a lot of resources dedicated to character building activities and development. If that sort of thing appeals to you, we've got you covered.

Other than roleplaying, we have other discussion and forum based activities. We have a book club, where we go through the Redwall series and discuss a new book each month, we're currently on Mariel of Redwall. There's also the Nameday Celebration, where members can offer up their ideas for the name of the next season, and the winner get's a shiny badge and their name on the front page for a season. A lot of members like to share art or other Redwall related creative works as well.

Even if you don't have enough time to use the forum regularly, we have a Shoutbox at the bottom of the page you can use to casually chat with other members. There's also a Facebook page you can follow to find out everything going on at DAB if you're even more stricken for time.

In summary, if you love writing, Redwall, or just want to meet a great community of people come check us out! We're very welcoming and always love to see new faces.

Hi there, Isaiah! Thanks for joining the board and letting us know about your forum. I've heard a fair bit about DAB in my searches along the ROC. I'm sure a few of our members would like to check it out, so thanks for the links!

What brought you to our board to advertise, I'm curious? Just spreading the word around ROC forums, or did you choose us specifically?

While we have been spreading the word around as many ROC forums as possible, we thought you guys might have more interests with us in common, given we both center around longer form fiction writing within the world of Redwall (as opposed to a pure discussion board like the Redwall Abbey forum or /r/eulalia). So we did treat you guys with the extra big wall o' text since we figured some people here might be more interested in what we have to offer.

This is ideally all part of a larger project, however. While a lot of shameless advertising has gone into it, our long term goal is more to network and do our best to bring the ROC as a whole closer together. The ROC has certainly declined over the years, but there are still a fair few people with a passion for Redwall, they are just splintered across several disconnected communities. We've been trying to affiliate with as many active ROC sites as possible and hopefully bring more unity to the ROC in general. At least, that's the ideal end term goal and we're not entirely sure how we'll get there yet. :P

That's a link to a google doc with all the active ROC links me and my fellow DAB admins could compile, a directory of sorts. If you know of any others we'd love to add them to the list.
