Erethas

Arg sorry about that, just modified it - I have several absolute favorites, not the least is Cake or Death, the Queen Mother. Heck, everything of his is my favourite.

Damask the Minstrel

Well, I can't share the awesomeness, sadly, but I had the best kill I've ever had in Left 4 Dead tonight. Me and three bots in the sewers, we turn the corner in a small tunnel, and hear the blood-chilling growl of a tank. The tank comes barreling down the tunnel into -- dual pistols. I kill it before it has time to rip the team apart (it does get a couple of hits on Zoey). Still, I took down a tank, in close quarters, with only pistols. Eat it, monster-zombie. XD

(Call it redemption for the team letting me bleed to death earlier in the day. Stupid bots.)

I think those are goats, Syc.

And, yes, Eddie Izzard rocks my socks. (If you've never heard the "Monkey with a gun" bit, you must try to find it somewhere. That, and "Jesus and the dinosaurs.")

And all that's best of dark and bright
meet in her aspect and her eyes...

Totally still working on the RV5 epilogue, I swear...

Damask the Minstrel

I thought I should say here, for Ada's sake:

I just wandered onto Lady Gaga's Youtube channel.

She's like crack. Horrible for you. Addicting. And you just can't stop. XD

Yet another reason not to listen to her in the first place, I suppose. I have a friend who loves Lady Gaga, and keeps trying to make me listen to her. Frankly, I don't think any of her music can hold a candle to "Funeral for a Friend," but he (my friend) insists that she(Lady Gaga)'s amazing.

Damask the Minstrel

(I suppose it depends on which you're talking about... I assume the rock band, not the Elton John song.)

They're apples and banjos. Gaga is unashamed, Madonna-at-her-height, trashy electro-pop. And wonderful for it.

FFAF sounds -- from the sampling of about 3 songs I picked up from Youtube in the 10 minutes before I was done with work -- like a slightly (emphasis) heavier version of New Found Glory. Same basic formula, however. Nasal vocals, a couple of stock underlying beats from the drummer and bass, the guitar throws in a some riffs to accompany the singer, who gets the spotlight by far. The tunes are catchy, but I wouldn't place them as my first choice of comparison.

Mind, this isn't a jab at them. For every 10 NFG or FFAF, Franz Ferdinand or Eve 6 there is one Queen. The bands that come between, around, and alongside the greats are fun to listen to, and I've got my favorites, too (Guster comes to mind), but to use them as the reason -not- to listen to Gaga? Strikes me as very, very weird.
