Damask the Minstrel

My complaint with the early FF games was the grind. Hours of leveling needed in some spots, but no warning that those spots were coming up. Just, all of a sudden, "Hi! You're stuck in a dungeon right before a boss fight! And... you can't get out to level. Perpetual dying, enjoy!" Though my complaint with FF VIII was that I was able to beat it with a level 28 main character, so...

I felt 7 was a happy medium. A little bit of leveling, some good, long side-quests that you didn't have to do, and let's not forget the joys of being a "Licensed Chocobo Inbreeder" (tm).

Opal

True (BUT if you play it as a ROM you can usually just cheat and save the game whenever you need). But you have to admit, Kefka is one of the greatest video game villains of all time. :P

And we now return you to MUSIC, much as I love gaming talk.

I've decided for Rath, after listening to my ONE Simon & Garfunkel album (I know what I'm asking for at Christmas), that The Boxer fits much better than "Rodeo". So! There you are. Yes...

Erethas

I love Simon and Garfunkel - my friend gave some to me over Itunes. And also, I love your music choice for each of the characters.

That reminds me, Eliza, now when I listen to the sound track of the french movie Amelie, composed by Yann Tiersen, I think of your character, most of all when she's dancing at the ball.

I'm glad you like them, Erethas. If you have any other thoughts on music for the characters besides Eliza, I'd love to hear them! That goes for everybody else. I'm interested to see what music other folks identify with for the various charries. I'm looking specifically at you, Inny. 'Cause we both know you gots the magic touch with music.

Damask: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXccp0uL6m0 Human Spirit by Dolores O'riordan
The lyrics and instruments are perfect.

Revel: [a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gFXQFq8thQ"]Half Acre by Hem
Revel seems always (almost) take everything in stride.

Rath: [a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6C1hwXV1exU"]Jerk It Out by the Caesers[/a]
This is fitting for Rath, esp since he an ex-gladiator and he is training Venril.

Venril vs. Eliza:[a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9QtJERu_2E"]Tais Toi Mon Coeur by Dionysos Ft. Olivia Ruiz[/a]
This has subtitles. The song explains thing - I don't think I need to say anything.

Bell: [a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKwFNRPhTFE"]Let It Rock (w/o rap) by Kevin Rudolph[/a]
I think this is a very good match.

More to come!

Edit: I am too worn out to elaborate on each song-character. Shall continue later on for everyone else, I promise. Hope you like!

I really have to hand it to you guys- you're quite good at finding the perfect song for the character.

Skeleton Song (Kate Nash) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQe8XEqu7yM
Skeleton we have been friends for years
And you have seen me through some trials
And tribulations and some tears

Revel
The Calculation /Regina Spektor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DLp-vE3AKg (it sounds cheery, but the ending is creepy)
So we made the hard decision
And we each made an incision
Past our muscles and our bones
Saw our hearts were little stones

Pulled 'em out they weren't beating
And we weren't even bleeding
As we lay 'em on the granite counter top

We beat 'em up
Against each other

Eliza:
Fairytale/ Sara Bareille http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cGQoPmefyA This just fits her.
'Cause I don't care for your fairytales
You're so worried 'bout the maiden
Though you know she's only waiting
On the next best thing, next best thing

Su:(this fits her better)
Bird of the Summer /Fine Frenzyhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrBKb_zjsg8

You came with the season, as the first swallow sang
A brown headed stranger, with a five-letter name

we planted our kisses where the wild berries grow my feet sprouted wings and i flew all the way home dooodoodoo

my cheeks red like fire engines racing straight to the heat of your skin and i know our days are numbered, early bird of the summer you'll fly south just as the fall begins

For Damask, to Liza: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtYJTwjtZ-4
Money Talks,
But it don't sing and dance, and it don't walk
As long as I can have you here with me
I'd much rather be, forever in blue jeans, baby.
And if you pardon me
I'd like to say we'd do okay
Forever in blue jeans

A folkier take on the loverBird.

I've got the one for Keane so neener neener to you! (just kidding guys!)

Keane:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjp9xR5jgGI&feature=PlayList&p=FF23DD9DC5CBA755&index=13 Lucy in The Sky with Diamonds by The Beatles

I love all your choices; they are all brilliant!

See, for Keane, I was thinking more... Dr. Feelgood. XD

Or maybe! Another side of him: Remember, he does have to drug his own mother...

saffy

Calculation's stuck in my head now.  :P And it fits Revel a lot... in fact, Regina's basically Revel.  ;D

saffy

Just for fun for Damask:

Two Birds /Regina Spektor

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oGrwGCRImY&feature=related

Two birds on a wire
One tries to fly away
And the other watches him close from that wire
He says he wants to as well
But he is a liar

I'll believe it all
There's nothing I won't understand

I'll believe it all
I won't let go of your hand

Two birds on a wire
One says c'mon and the other says "I'm tired"
The sky is overcast and I'm sorry
One more or one less
Nobody's worried

Damask the Minstrel

Interesting... Just you wait 'till you get some Damask backstory, you people. Seems like you've read my mind a little.

And if that isn't a vague enough answer for you, then you need to read more prophecies. ^.-

Keane

Mneehee!  I find it hilarious (and interesting) that almost all of the songs mentioned for Keane have to do with drugs, when a lot of the songs I used to get into his head had nothing to do with that.  XD  That said, all of the songs mentioned are great.

Almost Easy, by Avenged Sevenfold, is very much Keane to me.

As for the others...  I can't pin down a specific song at the moment, but listening to Coheed and Cambria in general tends to make me think of Rath.  XD

Where There's Gold, by Dashboard Confessional, is rather Eliza...

Ooh!  Two Queens Of The Stone Age songs for Revel - Lullaby and Mosquito Song.  *sage nod*

*toddles off to find others*
