I just finished my second semester of college, literally today, and now that finals are no longer killing me, I think I can finally sit down and write some of the applications that I've been pondering over. Give me a week or so, and you'll have more to read :)

I should have my first application submitted before the week is out with another in the works. I'm really excited for a chance at co-writing a Redwall adventure. It's been too long.

Hi everyone. It's strange, I was feeling nostalgic over Terrouge yesterday after not going on it for years and by some coincidence I was just in time for a new contest! I thought they were a thing of the past. Clearly that's a sign of fate so I'm currently in the process of writing my first app in a long, loooong time. Will probably be cringey, but any excuse not to start writing any of my hideously boring essays. :p

Just wondering, will there be a list of applications submitted like there has been in previous contests? I always like trying to guess characters from their names.

No sweat, Tara. The acceptance and registration email landed in my spam folder for some strange reason. I swear Gmail is plotting my demise. A lot of important notes land there...

And I'm right with you, Aleisou. It's been a very long time for me too. My hopes aren't high for placing or winning but getting back in with a Redwall community is well worth the attempt.

Although there are plenty of names round here that I don't recognise, but the last contest I was involved with was Redscape and I didn't even manage to write one post in that before I got subbed. Same with RV4. I'm a nightmare. :\ What contests have you been in, Matra? Just wondering if you went by any other names.

What contests have you been in, Matra? Just wondering if you went by any other names.

I applied for Redscape but none of my apps made it in. Three or four years ago I was a pretty bad lurker so I didn't speak up in the pre-contest scramble, and I faded away after the rejections. Not a great habit but meeting new people and fessing up to failures is scary! At least it was back then.

So I really don't have a name in the contest ring. I've joined the odd Redwall RP board, but it's hard finding one that's active on more than a once-a-month-post basis. Anyone know a good one?

Not sure I'll have time to do it justice, but then, by the time we get underway I guess I might, so maybe I'll send an app in. Is Redwall much of an institution, in this timeline?

Yeah, I wrote the apps for Dirano in Redscape and Ashira in RV4 but ended up being subbed both times, which I really regret, because I loved both characters and both times I think I could have made it around the real life issues (we all have them) if I'd had a bit more confidence in my own writing. Every time I started writing a post, I just couldn't make it meet my own standards and ended up never finishing anything. If my app is successful, I would really like to give a survivor contests a proper go for once! I do remember you from Redscape, and well done for winning RV6. :)

Ahhh, being rejected sucks, but best of luck this time! I don't really blame you for disappearing once the contest started, it is kind of annoying to just sit back and read it when there seems to be so much fun going on backstage.
