Hm. Sneaky, I like it. Plus, someone posts twice! There's no downside!  :D

Eliza:

Oh, Eliza, I'm glad to see you finally got your post up and it's a nice long one, too, to help move the story along.  Your writing is as strong as ever and I'm actually a little surprised at the circumstances developing here.  Although it was bound to happen, I am surprised that Eliza was willing to help the woodlanders get free, but on the other hand we see her conspiring to use them to massacre the vermin force, which will free her from the possibility of being manacled again.

I'm also surprised that her promise to get Revel a dress was legitimate, although it was at once negated because Revel hit her over the head while trying to free her.    Although I still think you could've gotten this post out earlier, you're not on the chopping block for me.

Bell:
Travel posts are always difficult posts, and dragging a bunch of creatures through a cave is just like the posts last week where they were walking through the desert.  I don't think they're ever that easy to do, but you did an excellent job of pulling it off here.

I did get a little confused halfway through the chapter, when the vermin were chasing them.  I could've sworn Giddy stayed behind to help fight off the vermin, but then he's mentioned more than a dozen times as being there in the final scene.

Now, this is purely out of curiosity and not just a critique, but what is up with this cave?  Is it built into a volcano or does it just shake like the San Andreas fault does every once in a while?

Thank you very much, Ashira!
She walks in beauty, like the night
of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
meet in her aspect and her eyes...

Totally still working on the RV5 epilogue, I swear...

Ah...I'm sorry about the confusion, m'am. I had hoped my reference to the hare who sacrificed himself at the beginning as 'old' with 'grey' ears and his properly hare-ish accent would distinguish him from Giddy. I suppose not. I will try to do a better job of uniquely identifying various NPCs in the future. As for the caves, we haven't fully worked that out and I'm not a geologist. I would hazard to guess it's something like a fault line, though. Remember, we are in the Loamhedge region...roughly. As I recall, another contest centered around another part of our little desert experienced quite the dancing earth.
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Cairn Destop

Think that was how Operation Sandstorm opened.  An earthquake in the desert.
In life, the only thing that ever adds up is a column of numbers.

If Rath should somehow die this week, I'd like to see it be in a ritual sacrifice.

Sycamore

Hee!

Not that I want to condone the ferret's death in any way, shape or form, but that would be a fantastic idea. It just seems like the perfect set up.

HMMM...

It might behoove the ferret to get out of that position. I mean, if I can't figure out who I want to vote for one week, I might cast a vote based on who I can think will provide the best death scene.

Ritualistic sacrifice is pretty high up there.
And then he DIED!!!

Venril

Unfortunately, even in this day and age we still see the misconception that earthquakes are caused by things like "fault lines."  We all know the real cause of weather is dramatic effect.

Oh, the dreaded plot device! Will it ever stop raining destruction upon the earth? ;_;

Jarrtail

Probably never, as long as there are survivor contests for it to rain upon.

Damask the Minstrel

... Then I suppose I should release that Dammy's final post will be either in Damascian quatrains or Heroic Couplets.

Hopefully that makes the decision tough enough that you never vote off Rath due to boredom. (Or ,since everyone hates heroic couplets, I just secured my future. XD)

I should be voted out next because my death counts as a double or a triple or quadruple, or more! You won't know how many stoats you've killed until it happens. Isn't that every genocidal woodlander's dream?
And I hope that you know that nature is so
This same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land, and forests and sand,
Makes the beautiful world that you'll see in the morning

To all reviewers, past and present, thank you! I don't always find something to say in reply to each reviewer but I do my best to read them and will take their advice as best I can. You are appreciated!

Damask the Minstrel

Unless... we kill you, scoop out the li'l 'uns and foster them out to some creepy cave beasts. XD

Aw, I like Revel...
Wait, do you mean that you intend Revel to die during childbirth?

Revel

No!  :'( But if I die before she has them, they'll die with her. You can't vote me off with that on your conscience!

Is that cheating?
